PCMC is waiting for Punawale area to develop completely and after that it will start the dumping ground in Punawale. There is a clear nexus between PCMC and the builders due to which buyers are not made aware of this dumping ground. Most of the new buyers are totally unaware of this proposed dumping ground and are buying flats in vicinity. In fact, right next to the Punawale forest a big project - 41 Zillenia is in progress. Also, there is newly started Cambridge school. Irony of the matter is that PCMC has chosen forest land for dumping gound, which clearly shows how much it cares for the environment.

First of all it was already 5km away from city highway or dense public areas, but builder's buyed cheap land nearby and build skyhigh building with tagline near Hinjewadi premium area, people rush for medium price home's than Hinjewadi without checking and now crying.. feel sad for them. The only concern was the population and development has been increased in punawale so much plus many projects are there including the WTC near dumping yard location so it will have huge impact on residential and commercial properties and will stop the growth of this area. Because people are looking at punawale very growing area and since wakad is almost full so nearest and in low budget properties are in punawale with good connectivity.. i hope govt will do appropriate action on this.

rather than be in doubt people should visit the location. It's surrounded by all popular builder societies, be it VJ, Kohinoor, Rohan, Kohinoor, Kolte Patil. SWMP decision was made 15 years back. I don't think they will do it now based on the fact that it has societies, hospitals and schools and what not in its neighbourhood.

I think dumping yard should be cancelled and we should follow Indore or other cities processes where it gets really helpful in segregation of waste as this may cause more climatic and health issues as well as it will remove already existing greenery which might take another decades to grow and might not be helpfull

As far as I know, the dumping yard is not going to be cancelled, as per my knowledge some funds also been transferred already to the forest department for the land. Also I heard some news where PCMC is planning to provide the land in another district. Once the funds are allocated and government machinery started working then there is nothing to stop it. Only political intervention can stop it and nothing else.😊

Please avoid Punawale area. You should know that dumping ground is municipality sanctioned and approved project. Which itself takes years to implement. It would be very difficult to cancel or shifting such a large dumping ground to some other place

It is inhuman to cut such a nice developed forest land. It takes decades to develop it. I have recently seen that an application to cancel this dumping yard is submitted to honorable CM Mr eknath Shinde and we have faithbin him that he will not let injustice to happen. Even most of environmentalist are against it. Also PCMC official are equally ignorant in giving permission to builders to construct large societies aroung it. If this comes then it will be Major setback for most of western area of pune that includes Punawale, Hinjewadi, Marunji, wakad and Tathawade. PCMC can not take that risk as many new developers projects are running in these area, and that is future money making prospects for PCMC.

Don't trust builder at all. If road is built and ready means there is road. If road in not yet built means there is some problem from land owners, as pcmc don't have fund problems only legal issues stopping pcmc to build road. So never trust builder if he saying in future road will be build here. Also don't depend on Rera too, check all information personally. We suffering lot.
