Such an insanely talented group of musicians. You've gained a new sub. I appreciate the person who requested this.

I am completely in that Venn diagram of Rush and really anything Chris Thile touches. I appreciate very talented musicians that can duplicate thier studio recordings on stage and sometimes even perfect them. I think you would like Nickle Creek, Chris' first band even more. I would suggest the Smoothie Song or Green and Grey. He also has a band with the world famous cellist Yoyo Ma called Goat Rodeo. Check out Attaboy.

I love both these songs, and I love the performance but the mix in either the recording or playback sounds very scooped, the mid range which is extremely important in these songs seems to be missing and I can't get over it while listening to it. And you are correct, they are very unique mix, they are virtuoso bluegrass musicians (though the bassist comes from a classical background rather than bluegrass, though he is quite well versed in bluegrass at this point). I'd say they continued and expanded the genre of music begun by the David Grismann quintet, continued by Bela Fleck and culminated by Punch Brothers.
