Builders pay the current market price whereas govt. pays according to Govt. Rates which is much much lower. Which is why people dont hand over plots easily.

Now that is not the case. Govt is keen on infra build. 40k kms done in 10 years wouldn't have happened if there was resistance. Govt is paying twice the market rates to the farmers or land owners. Environmental clearance is a big factor. Forest makes it more complicated. Obviously alternate trees have to be planted elsewhere. This takes a lot of time to formulate and plan. Execution is another thing.

I don't think there is a need for New airport in Pune after having a new Terminal at the existing airport and Navi Mumbai's new airport. It's easier & would be more faster for the people living near the Pune - Mumbai highway to commute to Navi Mumbai airport. Especially after the missing link project is completed.

New Pune International Airport will never get materialised for the following reasons. 1. There is a politician-corporate nexus. 2. The major part of Mumbai Airport revenues are generated from Pune based industries. 3. If there is a plan govt would not have constructed a new terminal at the existing Airport. 4. Govt spent tax-payers money to modernise the Airport. 5. Developers had acquired land around Purandar long back. 6. They need to convert these lands into gold with new development plans. 7. Royal Purandar phase-II- phase-III is just one example. 8. Builders know people have forgotten about Chakkan Airport plan. 9.The allegation is that builders themselves organised farmers agitation so that govt will search for a new site which is now Purandar. 10. No wonder there will be new farmers agitation at Purandar too. 11. A new International Airport will drastically reduce the income of Mumbai International Airport which is in private hands - everyone knows who is that. 12. Therefore, any news about new Pune airport is with solid selfish builder interest to sell their developments. 13. The latest New Mumbai International Airport is hardly 120km from Pune. 14. The rule says the distance between two airports must be 200km. - exceptions are there i.e. the upcoming New Mumbai Airport. 15. Unless and until politician-corporate nexus is broken or there is a strong political will, new Pune International Airport is a mirage. 16. How come Saudagar got into this trap?

After final clearance Navi Mumbai airport is taking atleast 5 to 6 years to open inspite of having relatively plain land. After clearances expected in this year, Purandar Airport will also take 2 years for land acquisition and therafter 5 to 6 years to complete the airport for operations. So assuming it would take around 8 to 9 years from now. How do you manage the crowds at the existing airport without even a small expansion for 9 years? So that expansion of Lohgaon airport with it's new terminal and extended runway doesn't in any way mean that Purandar Airport is not going to happen at all. It will take time. Maybe even 10 11 years. But it will happen.

Correct.. as a Indian we often fail to predict the future .. looking at increasing population of Pune and increasing demand of travel by air.. new airport is required.. if anyone is worrying about location then it is real challenge.. local politics of Purandar is against Pawar family .. so need to see Mr.Shivtare and Pawar families politics over airport land acquisition...

Incomplete 509 chowk, pathetic Kalwad vasti lanes, water logging/heavy traffic on the Lohegaon roads are just adding to the frustration of the people living around these places..thanks to PMC. Plus the surge in the accidents. God knows if Pune will get better or worse to live in the future.

Everything gets developed eventually. Now only because it is far away from Chakan or Khed which was the original plan for the airport, that is also quite far away from the residential areas. If we want big planes to land in Pune the basic runway requirement itself would be straight 4 kms plus no building zones or very low height buildings of around 5 to 7 kms. Then parking for more than 2000 cars, integrated, metro station, bus stand would also be required. Where would you have such huge requirement close to your house? When Lohgaon airport / airbase was planned around 100 years back, it was still 20 kms away from the City. Eventually city grew till the airport. That is the case for most new Airports in the world. All of them are 30 to 40 kms away from the city. *Having an efficient system to reach to and from the airport to all major residential and industrials hubs in the city is key*

Good topic and the optimism shown by you is very encouraging. However, the track record of actual progress in infrastructure development in and around Pune in the last 10 years has been woefully short of expections in keeping pace with growing population and necessities. This is just pure lethargy of authorities, mainly municipality. More than Rs. one lakh crore is collected by way of taxes but projects and tasks are not executed in time. Silly explanation that for lack of CISF personnel new airport terminal is unable to function. This is not Europe or Arab countries who are short of human labour. This is just pure administrative lethargy. With such wretched attitude of Administrators, Purandar airport will not be commissioned before 2045. In actuality, it should become functional by 2033.

Is it a ready possession flat? Process is different for ready and under construction flat. Don't sell it in haste. Try to leverage money from home. Keep 6 months of EMIs as a backup to cover you in the worst scenario.
