Pune is the only Metro city under top 8 Indian cities which is not a state capital. We desperately need a very big International Airport and Ring roads. Be it BJP, Congress, NCP or any other party, none of them have done anything. All are stupid bastards! Cannot agree more! Pune is almost a self made city. It is because of Pune's location, climate and people; it has become a favorite among all. Not like some of the other cities where artificial growth was pumped into by political favoritism. Metro is late by 5 years, ring road by 10 years and an airport probably by a couple of decades. Punekars are politically wise but not active. I see smaller towns have stonger political base - doesn't matter which party it is.

The problem with Maharashtra is khichdi govts. The other side starts opposing projects if they don't get their share. For ex: Shivsena opposed and stopped 3 lakh crore Nanar project because they were denied ministerial posts.Even if Nitin gadkari become CM he will work the same way like Fadnavis. We need a stable and purna bahumat govt like Gujarat if we want things to develop fast. Vote for BJP and give them complete majority and not khichdi by voting Shivsena who are very selfish.

Central Govt has proposed Green corridor between Surat & Chennai, to reduce traffic from North, passing through Mumbai & Pune .In addition to it, second ring road is being developed by MSRDC to reduce traffic going to South through Pune City. There is already High Way from Dehuroad to Satara.It is therefore felt that proposed Ring Road by PMRDA is redundant.

पुणे शहराचा वाली कोन? कोनी असता तर ही परिस्थिति आली नसती. गाड्या वाढतच आहेत पण रस्ते तसेच आहेत. लोकांचा वेळ रस्त्यांवर जास्त व कामावर कमी खर्च होत आहे. ट्राफिक सहज व अपघात कमी करायल रिंग रोड लवकर केल्याशिवाय पर्याय नाही.

Excellent work dude. Seriously I don't understand purpose of 6 lane expressway for outer ring road (MSRDC). These are small towns, I doubt they have even half the population of Jejuri (30-35K people) which also is a major tourist center. Plus Govt is willing to pay 5 times the compensation, wow! Definitely some corrupt dealings are happening here. I understand it has some limited utility but seriously 6 lane is not justified. In comparison, PMRDA ring road has lot of utility for bypassing unnecessary through traffic from Pune city. It's shocking to know that this ring road was proposed 40 years back 🙄

If the MSRDC ring road takes 40 more years for execution there would be many more people complaining that it took so long. You have to remember that Eisenhower the US president built the capitalist America on quality roads after he was impressed seeing the autobahn in Germany. Are you even aware how much economic activity takes place in outskirts of Pune like Chakan and Jejuri MIDC. I am pretty confident this would at least quadruple if quality MSRdC road is executed within 7 years.

All major cities should have ring roads to alleviate traffic congestion on city roads. With rapid development of expressways and highways, it has become easy to travel between cities. However, due to increased number of vehicles, it is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate city traffic. Ring roads will allow motorists, that have no business within the city, to bypass it. Gadakari's PPP model for expressway development has been a phenomenal success. The same should be employed to build ring roads.

The outer ring road is actually not specifically for Pune residents to use. It’s for trucks and cars passing through Pune enroute to other destinations. It will help divert them outside Pune and thus reduce not only traffic, but pollution as well. However I agree, they should be focusing more on improving public transport to reduce the need for cars in the city and this traffic, that’s the only way the situation will improve since the number of people moving to Pune keeps increasing every year

I don't understand the need to have dedicated BRTS lanes on Pune roads. BRTS lanes creates unnecessary hurdles and barriers for smooth flowing traffic and BRTS lanes have been highly unsuccessful in serving the people to the fullest. It's high time Pune administration understands public needs and stop having dedicated BRTS lines in future and if possible even start allowing private vehicles to run on existing BRTS lanes.
