I was at this gig.Joe strummer was playing as well .Was at the Celtic game v Aberdeen beforehand .Just remember the heat was unbearable and being out of my head . Me Murphy ,Quigley and Haggerty .Those were the days .

This would have been the best time to see them-not a single duff tune on their set list , pre-fairytale and Shane’s voice is still great. By 88, when they were really big, it’s mostly gone (see the T and C gig), though he still has enough gusto to get away with it

I remember that gig so well! Got entangled with a couple of overheated overdrunk Celtic fangirls on my way back to Stirling that night. Got punched in the face and punched back hard, fair and square. Great night though ;-)

I have worked at Barrowlands back in the day and also have the pleasure of knowing the pogues personally and they and all the bands say that there is no crowd can beat a Glasgow crowd xxx
