Me and my friends used to play a lil 5+ man "FFA" type game where you could only attack the person on your left. Could use instants and stuff on whoever but attacks only on your left. Made for some very interesting stand offs and plays. Wonder if it could help this format.

This doesn't work with punishing the loser, because you just incentivize the entire table to focus fire down one player. Better would be to play 3 games total - maybe even removing the winner of each game from the rounds. Then, the _winner_ gets immunity from being pie'd. That way, there is real incentive to play the game in order to win, not to kill one of three as quickly as possible. Last man not having won a game will be the victim.

Well, this video was a bit of a meh... First you ganged up on Ryan again for no reason, incentivized by the fact that there are 3 winners and 1 loser so the first guy to be attacked is the loser. Second we practically didn't see any play with one guy just ramping, one guy just playing creatures with haste, one guy doing nothing (and getting beaten) and only one actually playing his deck. Meh

I agree, it was a cool idea but games where your only goal is not to die first are always going to end with the weakest player getting triple teamed and completely wiped from existence. And that's not that fun for the players or the viewers, sadly.

Every time a player is eliminated, each player who lost should get a pie. So who loses first gets 3 pies, second gets 2 and first loser gets 1.

So I can see the reasoning to why. He is the strongest at mtg in the group(look at the decks he hands to other people). I honestly could have seen him winning easily if they weren’t dog piling. Still not a good feeling, but I think he knows it.
