Regarding the bop a lot, I had bought one for our beloved senior dog because the treat ball he mastered. After showing him how the Bop worked, he figured it out and stuck with it even though it was challenging. I'm glad I kept it after he passed for our new puppy.

My puppy wasn’t quite 8 weeks when I got her. That being said, I really wish I would have seen your video before I brought her home. She wouldn’t eat for almost a week. I didn’t realize they might not have any appetite for a few days. I was so nervous trying to find any type of dog food or treats for her to eat. Nothing but a chewy stick to chew on. So, I introduced her to boiled chicken and rice, and she finally ate. So at 10 weeks, I’m trying to wean her over to dog food. Not easy. I’m looking forward to watching more videos. Thanks 😊

my pup is a GSD x collie mix and he's a gem but he is nipping alot and not really listening he isn't toy motivated atm and neither food motivated even for cheese 😂he knows to go wee wee /poop only had 1 accident in the house but he doesn't eat alot atall but he's drinking the water/water mixture that is in his food? Will he be okay on this or should I try and feed him more? he's amazing in his crate he goes in there on his own I haven't even had to say or do anything with that he whines at night but during the day I keep the door off so he can get out as he pleases
@HowToTrainADreamDog Жыл бұрын
You can talk to your vet about the food, but it's common for a dog to not be interested in food when they first come home. You can use the crate training games in this course to help him love the crate (with the door closed!). If he gets the proper rest you'll also see the biting behavior get better. courses.howtotrainadreamdog.com/crate-training-course

our puppy is 7.5 weeks old. he is nipping, and very playful as all puppies are. he is a St Berdoodle, so likely going to be a large dog. what I want to learn is the basics then gradually move to the other levels. we live in the country so leash is not really required at home.. but I want him to be comfortable that we we are not home the leash is a good thing. Right now he has been free fed - which I will change today. and then training with treats. I always thought treats should not be their food. from this video it sounds like using their food is recommended (instead of treats). am I correct?
@HowToTrainADreamDog Жыл бұрын
Many dogs will do very well in training using kibble for rewards. Sometimes if the training is getting harder, you'll want to use a higher value food. For the best leash skill games, and more information on reinforcement, check out our online course: www.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-perfection-course-learn-more/

If I have 2 puppies should they be in the same crate?
@HowToTrainADreamDog Жыл бұрын
It's important to never put two puppies in the same crate. This could end up causing a fight over space resources and is very dangerous. Having them in separate crates also helps them establish independence from each other, which is very important when raising two young dogs at the same time. This video can help you with more tips: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmTRlpmnZaiYr7csi=D7P-dXIDWLH6G_Y5

I have had my puppy for 2 full days now and we have been working on potty training(going pretty good ) , crate training(not going good, started the in and out game (that’s coming along), name(he seems to recognize pretty quickly) just started with the leash today, he doesn’t like it, he just tries to chew it. What do you suggest to do when he won’t sleep in the crate at night? Sleep on the couch with him, while we get him more use to it ?
@HowToTrainADreamDog2 жыл бұрын
Using a crate is an essential part of raising and training a puppy. It can definitely take some adjustment for some puppies to feel comfortable in their crate. This takes time, but mostly training! Through fun training games and positive association, you can help your puppy learn to rest and relax while in the crate. This will take time though, more than just 2 days! In the 30 Days to Puppy Perfection course we have several lessons on building confidence with the pen or crate. We can also teach you how to know when it’s OK to walk away or increase your duration. If you want to get started on some crate confidence training games, they are covered in this video. The full crate confidence lesson and more games are in the online course. And how long does it usually take for a puppy to start getting the hang of things unfortunately we didn’t have our wire crate the first day so I slept with her on the couch the 2nd night we tried putting her in the crate with no training and she started crying a lot so she slept in bed with us I know we’re spoiling her but I’m feeling overwhelmed and I don’t know what to do and when she gets wild up she tries to but everything which I know is normal I’ve been watching videos for 2 weeks

I have a hard time with the food thing. My dog is 3 pounds at 8 weeks old and I've been free-feeding her so far. She seem to know to eat when hungry. I'm scared if she doesn't have enough food available she'll starve. I wonder if these training videos are geared towards bigger dogs...

My cane corso came home today 11 wks old, he refuse to eat and dont even use the kong. He drink water tho. We spent altot of time in the back yard so accidents don't happen in the house. He dont care for toys or food just affection. We play run behind me lol. He like the lash and collar. He likes the crate. Just won't eat.

I am having the same issue, but tried feeding him with wet food. Try it. It's impossible to apply the rules of focus and feeding with training if the dog doesn't eat. First: trust and relaxed dog. Then: "training". I think. Maybe i am wrong. i just got the dog two days ago, i am learning. Good luck.

I feel like I've done EVERYTHING wrong. Got our puppy Jan. 3rd at 7 weeks old. His mom is black lab. Dad is golden doodle. Stays in his crate at night...getting him out every 3 hours. Doing great. He's biting like a piranna...peeing in the house...and is vocal when he doesn't get his way. Basically a toddler. buwahahahaha! He bites the leash, but will walk with me and strut down the driveway...buwahahaha. I want to train him, but he's not into his food. He's not kibble motivated. He doesn't really want to use his nose. I've tried to do a puppy puzzle mat...but he gets bored fast cause he won't use his nose. Is that normal? He seems dependent on his eyes. ANYWAY...we're all still alive (praise the Lord) and starting out his 8th week with positive vibes to start training. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos. SO helpful and awesome. :)

Using a crate is an essential part of raising and training a puppy. When used correctly with the proper training, crates are like cribs or playpens for babies and toddlers. They are used to keep your pup safe and out of trouble. Crates are the safest place for your puppy when you are away from home. Crates are never used as punishment but are a good place to encourage rest if your puppy is overtired and showing some behaviors that you find challenging. We have many videos on the KZbin channel all about crate training. This is the most recent one that will give you the top advice. From there you can keep watching all the others! For more in-depth support on crate training, consider enrolling in the online course for additional lessons on troubleshooting crate training.
