You never had a golden retriever right? I don't know how about american breed but european breed has problems with joint dysplasia. If you let your golder retriever walk on stairs until he reaches about 7 to 8 months you drasticly increse the risk of joint dysplasia - it is really painful and non-curable disease. (just google "golder retriever joint dysplasia" and learn about the topic)

Hobbs needed another couple of weeks of growth. He only made it without tumbling cos he had a wonderful dad to lean against and steady his back end before he went bum-rolling down to the bottom.
