PURE JOY! A Special Day Trout Fishing with my Son

This truly was a special day on the river with my son. After recently getting to film my oldest son catching his first fish on a fly (see link below to see that video), my middle son wanted a special day and his own video. We spent a late spring day trout fishing and had a little catch and cook to finish it off.

What river are you guys fishing? just curious, I have seen your videos and think I live not too far away, would love to take my 4 year old.

I really try not to share a lot of the streams I fish out of respect for the local people that frequent those streams. However, here are some things that can help when looking to find success for a young angler. Delayed harvest streams can be a good place to try once the restrictions have been lifted for the summer (they tend to be stocked at high densities and young anglers can find success there). Otherwise, simply checking stocking schedules of nearby streams can help you know when to venture out with your little one. I hope you find success and your little one ends up loving the sport as much as we do!
