How to remove the clips of the purge valve solenoid, and remove the gas lines of the purge solenoid on GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado. Fix code PO496.
This video will show you the best way to gain access to the purge solenoid, so that you can safely remove both of the gas vapor lines, without breaking them off.
There are 4 videos for this on my channel, so watch the other three videos for more useful information.
Thanks. Evaporative emissions system, and code P0496 for gmc canyon.
My vehicle, in the video, is a 2005 GMC Canyon, 5 cylinder, 3.5 litre, extended cab, Z85.
Hope this helps u out.
Note: There are electrical cables, near the truck battery, which are in the way of accessing the solenoid area by hand, so it is necessary to un-clip the cables from the clips that hold them down in place, then push the cables slightly to the side to allow space for the hand to get down to the solenoid area. Simply put the electrical cables back in their clips once you have completed the solenoid installation.
