I currently have this sunscreen and my skin is doing better! It does pill when you apply it in layers but it is very lightweight and has minimal to no white cast so you don't look 4 shades whiter when you use this. Purito uses recycled materials for their packaging (the box of this sunscreen is double sided and inside is the brand's philosophies) and they do not test on animals! @@ye23. i personally haven't tried it with makeup but it does pill sometimes and it can be kind of drying so you have to take that into account! i have combo-oily skin so for the first few hours the sunscreen looks like a satin finish but after 4 hours i tend to get extremely oily on the sides of my nose and t-zone

I love all of Puritos sunscreens. The mineral one has the best finish on my combination skin, as it’s mattifying. The only issue I have with it is that it gets stuck in my eyebrows and crumbles when I apply my eyebrow gel. Not the biggest problem, the sunscreen itself is well with that trouble.

I swear by this sunscreen. I have Mediterranean skin and still it doesn’t look strangely white on me. This is the most light weighted sunscreen I know that works very well on top of serums and moisturiser without pilling. Great review. You just summed up everything I love about this product.

I think it will be of interest to you that, according to Purito's own website, the percentages of actives in this formula are: Zinc 2.85% and Titanium 0.785%. I know that it is not just the percentages, but mostly the formulation that is responsible for the SPF rating, but I would love to know why no other country that formulates with mineral filters can achieve these results using such low percentages. Zinc and titanium have much lower extinction curves than, for example, uvinul a+ and uvinul t150 (both of which are in their other sunscreen at 3% and 2% respectively - again from their own website)

ye23 nope you definitely don’t, they formulate it specifically against specific wavelengths. Zinc oxide protects against UVA and the other chemical filters (PA ++++) and a little of Titanium dioxide, whereas the other filters protect UVB

prakash P uva is more important because they cause ageing. Theres a dermatologist on here that you need 15% zinc oxide for it to actually be effective which is why a lot of these korean sunscreens dont do what they claim

By far, I think the most comfortable chemical sunscreens that you've recommended are the Hada Labo Skin lab Gokujun UV white gel (SPF50 + PA ++++) 90g and the Altruist (from Amazon UK, which I love, love, love on my neck and arms and body!) sunscreen. That stuff is the best. No cast. Both of them: no stinging or burning.

I looooove the other Purito chemical sunscreen, unfortunately it breaks me out (in the oddest places I would normally never break out) I still use the other one around my eyes because it does not irritate them, or sweat off to sting during workouts. Plus makeup layers well on it! I also use it on my hands because it doesn't feel weird. Huge plus for me. I can't wait to try this!!!

I've been on a hunt for a great sunscreen that will sit nicely under my make up and goes with my stance on skincare (vegan, cruelty free, fragrance free, good ingredients, affordable and actually works). Dr. Dray. I use this sunblock. A couple of things that I would like to share from personal experience: If your skin is dry you must moisturize. Wait 15 minutes after applying Purito sunblock before applying a primer & makeup. I use Beauty Pie’s tinted primer , by itself or over makeup, on top of Purito Comfy sunscreen and it does not pill. Another suggestion that I have is adding Boots #7 color drops, 1 or 2 drops only, to this sunscreen in lieu of makeup. I hope this helps.

Hi I don’t know how much you’ve tried but have you ever heard of sugar waxing? You can make sugar strip wax at home and buy the strips online. I’ve used it on my legs, armpits, and bikini line and it works pretty well and hair takes forever to grow back. I also use pixi glow tonic to help with ingrowns because it is a AHA, I’ve heard that Tend skin is really great for ingrowns to but I’ve never tried it.

Highly likely it will be similar. The President of Korea Institute of Dermatological Science, Ahn In Suk - tested the purito centella sun cream and got a spf of 28. She also tested a series of KZbin famous lotion type sunscreen and found them all to be under spf ~39 or something. She has a KZbin channel talking about the spf issue.

I've been using this for a week now and I was really excited to try it... but every day I've used it I've been breaking out and getting sunburnt on my t-zone and I didn't understand why. I work outside at an airport so I think what you said about using waterproof for a lot of sun exposure must apply to me. There are some good mineral sunscreens out there. The Purito one is my favorite. However, I'm worried that mineral sunscreens don't offer a high enough protection from UVA1 rays. I've read somewhere that in order to achieve the UVA protection of a good organic sunscreen the zinc oxide concentration has to be above 20%, which is very hard to find. And even if there were such sunscreens, they might have a strong white cast and will probably be drying. When I know I'll need a hardcore protection I'll use a hybrid/organic European sunscreen, such as the Altruist. What do you think?

I’ve been using this sunscreen religiously for a month now because I wanted to try something new after using up my hado labo uv white gel. I’m a NC45 in Mac for reference, so I have wayyyy darker skin than Dr Dray haha. I use the 2 finger method to make sure I apply enough and while it does leave a slight white and I mean very slight, it eventually goes away in my opinion. So for darker skin folks who have been looking to try a mineral sunscreen definitely give this one a try! It also has niacinamide which is a nice little bonus.

The Purito Water sunscreen didn’t work for me with makeup. It does pill up immediately. I used it up by wearing it on my neck and hands. I also wore it in the morning before I put on my makeup. It was handy to throw on my face to take my son to school and then exercise. I then showered and went on with my morning routine, including a different sunscreen that worked better with makeup.

Check out Dr. Davin Lim. He's an Australian dermatologist and covers a lot of this stuff. Really cool guy. Dr. Dray and Dr. Davin are my two go-to people for anything related to skincare. Don't get me wrong, some estheticians, specialists and "gurus" are great to watch but they're not doctors and the amount of blatent misinformation I've heard them spew makes me highly sceptical of their advise. As a sidenote: I really think we should knock estheticians off their pedestal and bring 'em down a few pegs. A year or two of 'beauty school's doesn't mean anything. I have a background in biochemistry and pharmacology and can spot their BS a mile off.

I would just warn people that on the third application this sunscreen flaked off all over my face. I do have quite dry skin though so it might not be the same for everyone. For those who use sunscreen once a day this is perfect though. If three to five times a day go with the unscented for ease of re-application.

I’ve not had the best experience with Purito sunscreen. I bought them from Yesstyle but I find they are not as effective as EltaMD - with Purito I have gotten a sunburn and I also find that I get darker at the end of the day, not the case with EltaMD. Not saying it’s not effective, it’s just not as effective as other I’ve tried.

With any product user experience will vary depending on whether you reapply, how long you are outside and what other products you are using at the same time. Purito, while being very easy on the wallet and having all the right ingredients on paper, simply did not work for me as well as the EltaMD. I am an office worker that wears it in the morning as a moisturizer and walk outside for 10 minutes, without sun in my face. I also leave work after sun down, in comparison Purito just missed the mark for me.

Dr Dray, I’ve always read that to be effective a mineral sunscreen needs to be at least 15% zinc oxide and 7.5% titanium dioxide. Purito ‘appears’ to have 2.85% zinc oxide and 0.785% titanium oxide. Many other popular/well reviewed mineral sunscreens have well below the 15%/7.5% levels. Help!? I’m confused...?

I wanted to love this sunscreen! The texture and cast are both really good... My problem is that it stings and makes my skin irritated. I think it has to do with the niacinamide for me. Any products with niacinamide sting and irritate my skin.

Dr. Dray, I have been hesitant to try this sunscreen because of the extremely low percentage of active ingredients. A rep from Purito responded with the %s on their website (0.785% Titanium Dioxide, 2.85% Zinc Oxide). When compared to EltaMD’s 12% Zinc, this low percentage is very concerning. I know you have commented in the past about the % being less important than the formulation, but having 1/6 of the amount seems excessively low. Can you comment on this? For reference, I am using Purito’s other sunscreen during retinization and have to apply 2 layers of the recommended amount 3 times a day to not have a sunburn or tan while indoors. I am not sure if I can trust their SPF and PA++++ ratings anymore.

i don't think they can get away with lying about PPD. They claim PPD is 19.3. I remember Australian gold botanical has 4% zinc and % Tit. dioxide, and it has a ppd of 19.6 - they can't lie about it because in Europe that sunscreen has a UVA seal (which means it was tested in EU and the lowest PPD would have to be 16-17). Same in Korea, Purito sells there and yeah.. the white cast is tiny, percentage of actives also. I don't know what magic these korean companies are using in mineral sunscreens (or chemical as well). They are super elegant. Maybe the fact that they are NOT water resistant? at least majority of them

Rafael Emmanuel in Korea the ingredients are not required to be put in order of quantity like the US. The order of ingredients doesn’t tell you if there is more or less of a product unfortunately

I’m still testing the other one from them the unscented one. I like it and doesn’t seem to break me out 🤞🏻because all sunscreens break me out except for the cosrx with aloe. No. It will dry out your lips. You need to use a dedicated sunscreen for the lips. Best one out there is the SunSense moisturizing lip balm SPF50+

I feel like there is a lot of hype about the color science face shield sunscreen but I noticed when I have dry skin it tends to pill, A LOT.

Colorescience Total Protection Face Shield never pills for me even if I apply moisturizer first, wait for it to dry, then apply the sunscreen. I do not wear anything on top of it, so no makeup or BB cream, just more layers of CS sunscreen applied throughout the day. Occasionally, I put a tinted sunscreen on top, and still no pilling.

Very drying. It’s not the finish that’s the problem. It makes my skin so tight and I feel it after a couple of hours. I have layers of skincare underneath and it still makes my skin feel tight. It also pills especially if you accidentally rub your skin. I have combination skin.

I have a darker skin tone (about type 4 skin tone) and I've been using this sunscreen for a few weeks now, I hardly notice any cast at all from this sunscreen especially after it has settled into my skin after 20 minutes, although I do notice a (very) light cast after the second and third application. For mineral sunscreens, this has been my favorite by far!
