Sadly, I see many trades both union/non-union, certified/not-certified, licensed/not-licensed take little or no pride in their work: plumbers, electricians, painters, roofers, framers, mechanics, etc. This hurts the ones that really do care. A few ways to stop this: Post an online review, mention the name of the shop that did the poor work in videos like this and submit a complaint to the BBB. This customer should take the car back to the prior shop and ask them to fix the sloppy work. That shop owner should be embarrased.

It takes literally 30 seconds to cut both of the inner tie rods off inside of the jam nut so that you can slide the boot off. It takes another 20 seconds to take a pry bar and strike it with a hammer and break the band clamps on the outer points of the steering rack to release the boot fully. It probably took a couple minutes to cut those boots down and it probably added a couple minutes to spending the inner thyroids off having to deal with the interference of those boots being in the way. Doing the job right would have taken less time and I don't understand why it wouldn't have been done

This is exactly why I'm so busy I can barely see the light at the end of the tunnel each week after work. I'm constantly amazed at how messed up a vehicle can get and still drive in. I am completely with you trying to get people who don't belong under the hood or near the suspension, to just stay away from it. I just pulled another "Bluetooth scantool" from under the dash that was setting every light in the car by interfering with the can bus circuits, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode and locking the speed down. They actually spent good money to screw up their car, by purchasing that "tool" and plugging it into their new Stellantis. Then the tool told them what was "wrong with their car.".............. We all got a good laugh at that when we removed it and cleared the codes with our Zeus, and the car was back to good again. Lol.

Ah you don't have to fix it, your also going to charge to fix it best thing todo before you get anymore involved is to take some pictures and return to the original shop to have this issue addressed, I understand they (Original shop) messed up but don't act like yall never messed up at your job either 😂 and if it's really a big deal ask them to note that you don't want that mechanic working on your car again. I had a issue with the dealership once the guy wrecked my car just some honestly semi minor things long story short when I picked up my car I would've never noticed the fixed issues until I noticed I had alot of papers in my hand so I read through it all I did was speak with the dealership manager and told them don't let that person drive my car again 😂 most businesses will do the right thing when they're in the wrong you just also have to give them the opportunity todo it. Plus "this guy" is going to charge you again for what's already paid for 😂 I tell my customers the same thing give the other shop the opportunity to fix it cause you don't have a lawsuit until they refuse to fix it the problem then you can come see me
