I’m Russian, I live in Moscow, just a student in medical university , and all people here are against this actions. As a medical student we chose to help people, save lives, and a single thought about being at war, helping soldiers - this is terrifying .Most of us have family and friends in Ukraine , the problem is that we absolutely can’t do a single thing, that will stop war. Watching American shows like this one, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel - I can’t watch and listen, how Americans are just laughing not understanding the pain both Ukrainian and Russian people feel. We are all scared and just praying for peace in the entire world. I just hope someone will read this and at least feel and understand our concerns.

I hope your friend has been selected cause they have the right qualities to win! Independents with conservative views but a little bit of brains & logic are always good in that setting. I'm in Australia, my electorate has just had a bi-election & we've freaked out the major conservative party here by causing a 19.5% swing against them, that for a while looked like it was going to get the 21% swing required to actually take them out, so job done, even if we don't get a pure win :). Good on your friend for actually getting off his arse & doing what he can to fix your country. I really hope the whole community can get behind him & get out there & door knock & social media & totally negate the money thrown at the election by the big boys with good old fashioned passion & manpower. I’m a huge fan of Colbert but I was actually a little disappointed with his coverage on this issue. While I understand his shows all about jokes, I feel like he made light of the entire situation without having one of his classic and important somber moments. I doubt he will ever read this, but I hope his people do and they adjust the shower accordingly. Again not saying he should move away from doing jokes as that’s his entire show but look at what he did after Trump won. There’s been numerous examples of him taking a few moments to get very serious about a serious issue and I always love that about him.
