I wish you lot would think about one thing: some people go "war bad! peace good!" Ukraine has had peace with Russia before. Each time broken by Russia. Russia does not want peace; it wants a reprieve just to try again later. And after Ukraine they want to get into Europe. Anyone who pushes for peace besides the Ukrainians, just helps the Russians.

Couldn't agree with the General more. I've never in my 64 years ever protested in the streets for anything. However, if our western governments cave in and abandon Ukraine, that would get me out on the street with deep anger. This is an existential threat to western democracy (not just Ukraine) and to abandon the Ukrainian people who are seeking the same freedoms we take fore granted, would be incredibly selfish and to betray everything my father's generation fought for in WW2.

It is always interesting to listen to Times Radio interviews. They get current and past senior military figures, and let them speak, so we can benefit from their insights. No interruptions and put downs from the journalist. Who would have thought Ukraine could not only resist Russia, but push them back.

Looking at the areas Russia has been "pushed back" in, one must note that in the Kharkiv arena Russia had its least amount of forces in place there, and the Kherson pullback was a move Russian genls wanted since March. Now, did Ukrainian actions instigate Russian pullbacks? Sure, most offensives push the target back. Now one must look at cost, sustainability, and prepare for the opponents reactions.

@MarcosElMalo2
@MarcosElMalo2 Жыл бұрын
@@garymelnyk7910 Vlad Vexler is a very interesting political philosopher. He’s very humanist in his focus. Snyder and Hodges are also humanist, but each has a slightly different approach. I see them all as complementary. I’m a regular viewer of Vlad’s chat channel, where he posts more frequently than in his other channels. Stephen Kotkin is another interesting figure for those interested in Russia, the Soviet Union, and Geopolitics. Like Snyder, he is a historian, but he has a different perspective. In my humble opinion, his perspective is also complementary to Vexler, Snyder, and Hodges. His most noted accomplishment is writing a highly regarded 3-volume biography of Stalin. (He also has a distinctive Brooklyn accent which many have compared to the actor Joe Pesci.) I also watch Peter Zeihan, but Pete is too reductionist imho. He’s an analyst and trend-spotted of Geopolitics. When I watch his videos, I keep in mind that his main clients are private industry, particularly in energy and agriculture. He’s not bad, but I’m not a fanboy. I’m not sure I’ve seen Michael Clarke. I’ll check him out. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yet another great interview, honestly, TR is leaps and bounds ahead of the pack in it's guest contributors, and like someone said below, they let their interviewee say their piece when it comes to the straight to the point questions they give. I wish more of the media was like this, instead of all the usual "game show" graphics and music, and interviewers trying to lean the conversion into more sensational aspects then it really should be. At 21:45: as to to British contribution-Perhaps the Brits remember how devastated they felt under German bombing, desperate for the US to help them. They were heroes then and they are heroes now. I realize not every British citizen might agree, but looking at the historical comparison, that is what jumps out to me. I hope the US doesn’t wait any longer in this conflict to help. American help would take a burden from other Allies in Europe, especially Great Britain. From an American.
