Man, I think I would've finished a lot more RPG's in my day if all the NPC's / Bosses had just had more of Rowan's attitude. It's like, Mr. Boss...I've literally killed 95% of your henchmen, soldiers, mini-bosses and summoned monsters to get here. My Charisma sucks (because f* charisma). So don't make me sit through pages of dialogue and moral choices when we both know every choice is gonna lead to a fight. Stats like charisma, intelligence, wisdom are important in some of the old Bioware-style games. They open up more dialogue options, more quests, more stuff, etc. But it can be fun to play as an obnoxious meat popsicle. Dialogue options are limited to stuff like "yuh", "nuh", "wuh", "huh", "uh" ... but hey, at least you got the physical stats to take it in the face.

You should do a follow up about our self aware NPC forcibly having his emotions warped based on, from his perspective, nothing at all. He's just unreasonably mean and rude to some adventurers for seemingly no reason.

@@Croach193 Bauldur's Gate 1 and 2 it has a very large effect, not as many games now days have issues with it, but back in the day not having CHA for trading and/or diplomacy would lock out over half the game content.

@@Croach193 what are you 2 years old ? sure the weak ass games these companies farting out nowadays it rarely amtters , but boy did it matter in older games like baldur's gate (1and 2) , Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 , Knights of the old republic 1 and 2, Plane scape torment , Fallout 1 and 2 , fallout 3 it can really impact some things on. The list goes on and on with older games (1996-2010) that charisma certainly mattered in.

My very first everquest character. A friend told me something like that, pick something you think looks fun, pick a race, then meet me at the zone line. I did, and we met. We beat up some spiders, skeletons, whatever. He then showed me over to a vendor to sell off the junk I had accumulated and buy some supplies. The vendor refused to serve me, called the guards, they killed me. I had rolled up a dark elf shadow knight, and even in the newbie area of the zone next door to my home zone I was kill on sight. Even my own guards didn't like me initially.
