It's true in Harajuku for sure. Many people actually come to Harajuku just to see people wearing extreme fashion. But, if you live outside of the big cities, Japan can be like anywhere else as far as people having expectations about what is appropriate or not to wear. That's one reason that some of the kids we photograph in Harajuku have come to Tokyo to study art/fashion/etc. More freedom to express themselves here!

I love the Circus Harajuku! In San Francisco they sell their clothes out of the Maruq store in the New People building. Got the cutest pair of socks witch cupcakes on them and frills at the top. Love them to death!
