I still disagree, I can't explain it but some horses are just way better. I have a full stable and some of the same horses, I have 3 mft and one is definitely another level of chill, also somehow feels more agile and just overall better. It's the one I use all the time. However I have noticed that when I put that horse away in the stable, after I take it back out it acts like the other horses for a while. My theory is there is a sort of hidden extra bonding level when you have the same horse out for a long time.

I don't agree with the Harriet thing maybe it's different for console players but I have found many different times that at first if she gets mad if she tells you to go away she's going to spray you but if she changes her tone and has different dialogue she won't spray you. But as soon as she starts repeating go away you're going to get sprayed regardless

I use the wave/greet emote with Harriet, because doing so will warn you if she will spray you or not. If using an emote on Harriet gives you a positive response from her, she will not spray you if you interact with her further. If using an emote causes Harriet to respond negatively, she will spray you if you interact further. I hope players understand what I mean here.

Also try running away from her and coming back. If she says "you dont know who you are, that's the problem" while you're running away, she has forgiven you and will not spray you.

Actually, thinking it about it, by far the best thing about large horses is that you have to tap less often to keep them at top speed. That adds up to way less carpal tunnel syndrome with how long you spend on a horse. Hopefully someday Rockstar will ditch this ridiculous 'tap to sprint' crap from their PS2 era games.

Here's what I found when I do emote like waving to Harriet: - If Harriet says nicely like "You're in a good mood", you'll not be sprayed - If Harriet says badly like "A little space would be nice", you'll be sprayed Also about 2:30, I guess the chance of getting sprayed increases when you're killing animals regularly and often interacting to Harriet (like buying and selling). When you're killing a lot of animals, but rarely interacting to Harriet, you're less likely getting sprayed

In my experience, even if she seems friendly before I address her, she can still sometimes spray me, and if she seems hostile before, she’ll still sometimes make a deal with me. It also seems totally independent from the question if I actually have not killed any animals before (she will always spray if I have killed any, but she’ll also sometimes spray when I haven’t). That lady is just absolutely random

But that actually takes skill, I have spent many hours perfecting my free aim thru a scope, I personally carry a carcano with a long scope and a Lancaster with a short scope. And I can beat 90 percent of the players in game. But the fact is that if a better scope shooter crosses my path he beats me so it’s more about skill, and anyone can do it. Everyone gets perfect aim while using a scope vs SB. Where as shooting a person that you can’t see with the naked eye with a homing dynamite arrow is cheap.

I made completely different experiences with horse bravery. With some of my bonding level 4 horses I can stand next to an attacking wolf while other bonding level 4 horses will buck me off when hearing a growl. Idk if that's random but there is a reason why I wont take certain horses to quests in which I have to track down predators.

Horse bravery will always be hit or miss during early bonding levels. But if you can hit the calming button fast enough you can usually calm the horse down and get the heck away from the wolves or moutain lion.

Agree 100% for absolutely everything. Except.... horse bravery. It's more complicated than that (which predators, gunfire, etc agitate a horse how much and how soon). In a single point though, I've had (many, many times - I've owned at least 100 horses) some horses that will literally walk over snakes every time if one is near, and other horses that will become *insane* and unresponsive to the reins if there is a snake within 20 meters. That's just one example. There's more to it than your tests (and I love your channel and have seen them all) are uncovering.

IDK about the "horse bravery," Cat. The first horse I bought would always buck me off as soon as any fight started and would refuse to come over when called during the fight (caused me to loose many bounties), then I bought another horse and it remains calm during fire fights and will actually stay put when I get off it during the fight. Maybe it isn't really because of the horse breed, but just another random BS stat, like Harriet's -schizophrenia- likelihood of spraying...

My first bought horse is a superior Arabian and it bucks me off at first sign of danger if I don’t spam calm it. Then I bought a big draft shire and it doesn’t buck me off as often. In fact it rarely does and I don’t need to calm it. So in my own personal experience I feel like horse bravery is a thing. Maybe not as much as we think but at least some.

Horse bravery. Honestly that one I 100% belive. I always see different behavior in my horses. A friend was with his Arabian, me with my Turkoman. Wolves started attacking us, they were closer too me. The Arabian threw him off. The Turkoman didn't. Both level 4 bonding.

I honestly think the horses act a certain way depending in how you "raise" them. Like when I first get a horse I make sure to ride them into the swamp and get into a lot of gunfights or missions. This seems to make them more brave. My black turk won't buck me even with the legendary panthers. But my first turk, the silver one, bucks for snakes. So idk, I think there's something to it.

Face horse away from threat/predator, calm your horse (not once, spam that thing), and walk away from threat as it approaches. U can literally walk around everything but a Panther doing this on any horse.

It's not a myth when R* has documented and reported something. It's more of a screw up on their part ;) Horse bravery was supposed to be a thing at release. I think they broke it and abandoned any correction, then when releasing more horses they just make them all the same except for small differences in speed and accelleration.

100% agree on 10. I've watched many KZbin comparisons and none of the horse stats make any major differences until you're comparing horses with the highest stats to one's with the lowest stats. A few points difference in something is almost non existent. For a real world example. Saw a video that compared a horse with 10 speed and higher acceleration against a horse with 6 speed and lower acceleration. They made a four minute run between towns, and arrived with an 8 second difference in time. So about a half second difference, per point, per minute ran. Meaning if you made a 20 minute run with 3 points higher in speed would get you there a whopping 30 seconds sooner.

Well, everytime I've owned a turkoman, it has always left me in the middle of predators, while my gipsy cob never left me, and even manages to hold for like 15 or 20s near a legendary bear before dropping me. I won't even talk about my arabian horse, that one won't even go through the bluewater river without throwing me off as soon as it sees an alligator. Both my mustang and gipsy can go through that river and be just fine unless we get surrounded by like 3 or 4 alligators. Anyone can say anything, what i know is what I've experienced through my year playing RDO

Cartridge wrap has cartridges on the wrong side and it's stupid. The left side of the stock goes firmly against your cheek when you shoulder the long gun to fire. It's even called - cheek weld. Modern adjustable stocks even have special pads that you can tweak for a more comfortable contact. Cartridges being on the left side of the stock would therefore be right up against your face as you aim down the sights and it would be uncomfortable as fuck. Also, the purpose of the cartridge wrap is to be able to quickly grab a round out of it without un-shouldering the weapon - you let go with your right hand and keep holding the gun with your left hand against the shoulder, grab the round, put it into the breech and close the action. This way you can quickly feed an extra round and not "come off the target" with your sights. If the extra rounds were against your face, you couldn't get them out quickly. As someone who regularly shoots IRL, I equipped the wrap once, rolled my eyes, and never equipped it again.

My problem with ability cards is that i choose them based on my playstyle and having fun with NPCs but almost every time someone attacks me for no reason they have a deck that is focused completely on PVP. It will always feel like bullshit when the guy doing the wiggle snipe takes 10 shots to kill when they only need to shoot you once. Of course i could just make a PVP deck to combat them but it really shouldn't come to that. you shouldn't be forced to change your deck just to be on equal ground with whoever you're fighting.

The appaloosa horse is brave and calm against alligators, But with wolves, You need to calm it down all the time or it bucks you, But with panthers, Cougars and bears it still shits itself sadly. The horse bravery is actually thing. My Arabian is far more skidding than my Breton and strawberry roan. I’ve just tested it myself yesterday. Then again, my white Arabian seems to be more brave than my black one sometimes. But my Roan has taken bullets for me before tuning off sometimes and my Arabian will buck me and run when being shot near. It does matter. In my experience.

I think the double action has alot of misconceptions around it. I find it's best use is as a standing/cover revolver. Its bloom and accuracy are best when the player is stationary, compared to other revolvers.

Gotta agree with you about Harriett. You can kill and skin a rabbit right in front of her. She will even call you a murderer, but then allows you to conduct business with her. Then there are times when you don't kill an animal for 24 in-game hours to meet the daily challenge and then she says you are worse than Gus and sprays you. You wait for the cool-down period to end, go back to her, and then BAM....she sprays you a second time.

I know a guy who says he never gets sprayed by Harriet because he waves at her. THen I told him I started the game, didn't do anything (not even a single daily) and I still got sprayed. He was so convinced the waving worked that he did it, got sprayed and then blamed the game for having a bug in it LOL. I asked him what the problem was because I noticed that if you wait for about 5 minutes you can talk to her again without Harriet spraying you.

I do think speed does matter a bit with horses. I do collections almost exclusively and if i use the Arabian i always seem to finish the routes by 15-25 minutes faster depending on the layout of the collectibles on the map and I'm at 9.53 million dollars so I've done 100s of runs and used nearly every horse and the Arabian consistently finished the routes for me much faster.

Then I bought myself a Tiger Striped Mustang and he just stood there. No gunshot or anything scared him. Even an explosion didn’t even do anything. He just stood there, menacingly. Had a player yesterday that I shot with headshot from maybe 3 feet away with pistol and their health didn't drop at all. Once I died I came back and threw dynamite blew up right beside them and they fell over but no damage either. A couple minutes later I had non stop armoured NPC's attacking me constantly and 3 lions constantly attacking me, changed servers and after a couple minutes same thing started happening. Had to stop playing online completely for the day.

nice video, good work! but i really cannot agree with the bravery horse part. i did alot of testing myself and in the beginning i've made the same experience like you, as all of the tested horses were pretty much the same in bravery. but after a long time i finally found two horses which have been really and clearly more brave, which was easy to feel in comparison to the other ones. for me i found them in the lower tier horses like for example the hungarian half breed. some horses also run further away in the swamps with alligators and some won't even come back to you when whisteling. and some horses dont run away that far and come back way easier. i'm sorry to tell you that your testing wasn't enough in this matter obviously. you just haven't found the right horse yet. but believe me you will realize it immediately when you found a brave horse! by the way even the braver horses are scared of certain predators. there is also different behavior with different predators.

Make a video about weapon variants (skins). There is a misunderstanding whether they affect the weapon components or not. Especially if the weapon has already been completely upgraded.

Variants do not affect weapon components as far as increasing them. If you have two revolvers and two or two pistols fully upgraded (one with variant and one without) the stats will be the same, but if you toggle the variant on and off for one weapon the stats will change because changing back to the regular variant returns some of the components to default. Whenever I unequip a variant I have to re equip improved sights and barrel length on the same weapon but never rifling.

There is a visual glitch when removing a variant from a fully upgraded weapon but the stats are the same. Simply go into components and the visual glitch self corrects. Youll really see what i mean on handgun barrel lengths.

@@tommyelliot302 I think it's been a bug since the beginning. At first it was the Lancaster. Then it became the Varmint (when the Elephant Rifle came with the Naturalist Role). Someone didn't carry the 1. 🤷

The cartridges on the cartridge wraps are on the wrong side for a right-handed shooter. It would prevent you from getting a proper cheek weld.

The off hand holster is also positioned in a way that it would fit and be drawn by the same hand as the primary.

@@Witty_Jackson, that was the most common way people ran a two-gun rig historically. They'd run one gun dry, then switch to the other so they wouldn't have to reload right away.

@@santi_super_stunts2573, not at all. You'd draw one sidearm, pass it to your off-hand, then draw the other. Or, you could get proficient at pulling the pistol out butt-first with your off-hand. It's not "wrong." But people ran two-gun rigs like that because dual wielding was hardly ever done.

Cartridge wrap is idiotic because they put the cartridges on the wrong side for most shooters (right handed), because they get in the way of a good cheek weld, which will seriously impair your aim, and hurt like heck when you shoot the gun. Plus you would be slow to reload using rounds from the wrap, because it is on the wrong side for your dominant hand to grab easily.

Tip for defensive mode: ALWAYS carry a shotgun. Unless you're dealing with a skilled sniper, you can often get close enough to one shot a player. Another thing is let them get the first shot in: if you kill someone while in defensive mode but its not defensive combat it can kick you out of defensive mode.

Split point don't slow dead eye usage it increases damage while in dead eye. You can make a braver horse simply by training it around danger I normally do all my bonding in the swamp near copperhead point

I will say I have a weird bug with my Bolt Action cartridge wrap; when I change the color to blue, anytime I log in it reverts back to brown. I switched it to the cherry and it stays... I have no idea why. I generally ignore defensive players completely, but I have had a few mess with me, thinking they were basically invincible unless they actually attacked me. Switched to grapeshots with my LeMat and blasted them, two shots kill them every time at close range. I do tend to carry the Bolt Action more than say, the Carcano. I don't confuse the two, and I do certainly switch between them depending on what I am fighting, but I find the Bolt Action to be a bit more versatile for me, since I don't always want to be looking down a scope, but having a scope is helpful. And having a rifle is always helpful. As for expensive horses... I always caution new players about getting too head-up on buying a new horse. They tend to think the horse is the problem, when really it is the saddle and stirrups. I do ride expensive horses, but I am rank 300 and of course I do. What else am I buying, lol. My favorite is the black Turkoman. But it isn't because they are better; they definitely aren't. I love riding my Nokota, or any race handling horse. I have a black Arabian, and the elite handling is also really nice. But outside that... Yeah, they are all basically the same. I do notice a difference with some though, like the Kladruber or the Gipsy Cob, they really seem to struggle on the incline, but outside of that all of them are basically the same. As for the health thing... Yeah, no. I have found that in almost every situation horse health isn't really that big of a deal. In fights with other players it can matter, especially if you are trying to stay mounted; a lot of players, especially the ones who are just trying to mess with you, will go for your horse first. If you are fast enough, you can fortify their health, but eventually they are still going to go down. My solution for this is having 10 horses, lol. They down one, I will usually finish it off and summon the next one. I have never gone through my entire list of horses, but even if I did because they were killing them by the time I got to the last one, the first one would be back up again.

I think horse's bravery really shows in story mode per my experience. It happened in Van Horn. Parked my thoroughbred El Bandido outside the saloon, told him to stay, went inside and started some shit. Needless to say, bullets started flying, ran outside and stupid El Bandido was in the lighthouse whining like a bitch as I died. Went back again, this time with my ardennes horse El Compadre. The horse basically stand his ground and was hit by stray bullets a few times and never left his spot until I'm on him and we both escaped. Got teary eyed when he died in the chapter 6

Yep, and on some situations in online this is also very clear. I once decided to play an Ike Skelding telegram mission and I had to get into Saint Dennis and capture the police chiefs daughter. Needless to say, I got into a park for protection, there were hundreds of policeman in the city surrounding me, but Cloudhopper (my Black Toveiro MFT) never ran away at all and waited for me the whole time, and never bucked me even when I got on him while we were getting shot at. This impressed me because my previous MFT (Silver Dapple this time) would buck very easily. The temperament is very random though so it's never a guarantee that the horse is going to handle things well.

Slow and Steady no longer keeps you on the horse when attacked by a predator. It was recently nerfed. And it is helpful (no myth) to wave at Harriet to help avoid being sprayed. You just have to listen to what Harriet says to predict whether you will get sprayed. Also, passive mode in GTA is not full protection as there are some creative ways to still get killed by players.

Horse health is much more important in PVE which is when players actually use horses. Nobody with any sense uses horses in PvP, just makes you a bigger target.

My problem with the cartridge wrap is that the bullets are on the wrong side because if ur firing right handed as ur character dose ur cheak will be on the bullets it set for left handed shooters no right handed shooter would keep there bullets there in real life as they'd tear there cheak to bits
