Nioh - The BLENDER (Powerful Dual Swords Build)

My Wo Long Review --> [ kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZaveKGZidKcpJo ] For anyone going into ng+ for 1st time and thinking of making this build and wondering how to get the same blades I use. Do "The Rising Shadows" in tokai region quest, they give a divine pair to you in mission rewards. To ensure you get a good pair (7 stats), savescum before doing the quest, that way when you complete it, if it's trash, you can redo it without losing the reward (since you only get them once). If you did it and don't have the blades atm, you have to find it randomly. Do quest that reward dual swords, and pray you get it. People keep asking bout the blades but in truth the blades aren't important. Use any 2kat that's easy to make for yourself.

I went to do Rising Shadows like you said...first Yokai dropped yasakani magatama(+2) lmao? and the weapon I got is crappy....but not sure if I should savescum now :( although the yasa stats are kinda crap too...+18 luck, realm +53, living weapon dura +268, amrita from people 5.3%, change to def(spirit) B, element attack dmg reduce 16.6%. and then set bonus

I have from behind damage, as you can only have one damage stat. Skill damage would be ideal yah. Also make sure to use kara-jishi instead of kato as kara's better for windstorm damage.

My build isn't even complete and it's completely wrecking everything. I have a lvl140 weapon with carnage and some of the other skills. I'm working on the armor and getting a 150+ weapon. Thank you, this made killing the bosses easier and more fun since I'm not dying as often

Nice, glad its working for you. Remember to replace kato with kara-jishi, you'll do more damage. I also recommend some dex for quick change scrolls, something I didn't get in this video. They revive you to 30% hp if you would have died from a hit.

Windstorm is my favorite skill :) glad to find a build dedicated to it. I usually stay on low stance, but switch to high just to do this skill. never thought of focusing the whole build around it. very nice video thanks, might try this out soon. just finished the main game and am taking a break. I am using Kingo's as well.

This is def one of my favorite builds that you've done. My current build is based off of your except I focus more on defense with 4 piece tatanashi with 2 piece kingo and ive blown through way of the strong with ease and still under lvl 200!!

forged, I failed to mention it since I did the commentary in one take haha Also, kingo's is 6/6 forged, I just got 10 body since health gave 25 health each up till 10, after 10 it only gives 20. What I did was SPEEDRUN the NG (not ng+) centipede mission, literally run through the entire mission, reach centipede, kill, with luck and item drop rate on anything I can. You need centipede fangs to craft his armor. Only worry about this once you reach way of the strong since you want to craft divine gear obviously.

What if you do an actual spin and perfect ki pulse before doing the actual damage spin? Isn't there a skill that gives your next attack a damage buff for dual swords like the one sword?(using sword/axe build for first run:p) Maybe it could just be just enough to 1 hit some enemies?

That damage buff only works for 1 tick of damage. Windstorm is a multitick move

Pretty sure random drop, and/or obtained only once through mission awards. Such as the DS's I'm using, they can be obtained once through a ng+ mission. As for hybrid build, sure, but you'll be weaker early on than being fully specced for one as you have to fiddle with stats. But at say lv300+ it might not make a difference since you can 99 both heart+skill.

Start playing a few days ago, And after try out the weapon, I do like the Dual Swords. As it is hard (well for me it is) to pick skill´s. ya anything that says "passive" when your on a skill in skill menu, itapplies to everything you have. Like axe "fortitude", you will gain the health no matter your wpn and no matter if you have an axe equipped or not.

It has to be equipped*, you just don't need to be fighting with it, you can slot it in weapon 2 and you get the perks

Just switch to the bat spirit or the paired raiken. Bat does bonus damage from behind and paired raiken gives yokai damage bonus. That extra 20% or so should be enough to let you 1 shot most things also the kobayawa clan for the extra back damage

Neither compare to kato. That's not extra, you lose 20% skill damage and 12.5% attack (since you not using kato) AND kato has higher attack enhancement than both. From behind damage does not give a hidden multiplier, it simply means you do increase damage when hitting the back. 20% skill damage, and 20% from behind do the exact same damage against an enemy from behind. Same thing with the clan. kobayawa provides 2% less attack damage than ishida, and Ishida does 10% more to trash mobs without having to run behidn them to get the damage from kobayawa. Just letting know :p

However im new to game and only early into 1st run lvl65 and just on The 3 Souls mission. hmm, maybe the bat for attack from behind? Or the centipede for pierce guard to do some damage against blocking humans. I'd say it doesn't matter too much, you could also go saoirse for more amrita, itokuri for more luck, etc etc

Great cheers, I was thinking along those lines, also had Wind Storm been nerfed that much ? I really love going Tazmanian Bush Devil on those badies, would be a shame to have to change up, plus I got lucky and rolled extra Skill and wind wind damage on charms and + 42% wind on my swords, still melting most of em with a few funky spins. Of course now im entering Divine territory for the first time and the cost of soul forging atm is pants until I start farming allot more of the sparkly stuff. Cool build man. My problem with this game(free on ps plus this month) is that all the reviews and tutorials are done by people with 100s of hours invested into the game, and the shit is not even applicable to someone struggling through their 1st playthrough. You take 200 damage and I take 2000. You do 3000 damage and I do 300. I need tutorials for the severely underpowered 1st playthrough, not how to dominate at level 387, know what I mean?

I've went with your setup, but I can't seem to get Familiarity on my dual blades, Save scummed and reforged about 2000 times and still haven't managed to get it. I have Change to attack (Skill) A+ though, overall with a 150+6 set I'm only doing about 1900 per hit from behind. Not too sure what I'm missing.

stats clash with one another, you can only have 1 stat per group of similar stats. So you probably have some kind of damage boosting stats (not final blow nor change to attack, those are safe). But dunno, I still hit harder than this video last I tested after patch. If gear/level is the same, I don't see the problem. In this vid I was +9, so that's about 150+ damage over a +6 with same stats.

any really. There's nothing special about my two kats, they just come with an extra close combat ki reduction as a signature stat. The lightning damage is whatever. I forged and used a normal one that had c+ in heart and b+ in scaling from blacksmith, then forged the stats over time.

I made a vid earlier bout divines, check it. +x on charm is random, you either get lucky. But max is +6, ONLY if the charm drops in the last region, IF your lucky to get +6. Mines is +1 because I got it from ginchiyo quest, and max + is 1 or 2 in 1st regions on ng+. It's a drop though, can't increase it, your stuck with what you got. for damage, follow the build and get a +7 or higher DS and you'll be similar. the 2kat I got dropped randomly, but you can do uest that reward divine DS's to increase your chance of getting the same one in the vid.

List your wpn stats. Also fbd is not the best, ideally you'd want close combat damage or skill damage. You can only have one damage stat beside final blow, and change to attack. So if anything on your wpn says damage at all, you can only have one, and need to replace it if you want a different one. Fdb gives 15% at max. same for agility damage bonus. Close combat and skill damage give 20% at max familiarity (they show up as 15% if you got max with 0 familiarity on wpn).

You can follow my stryker build, that's the only sotc build I have. simple, 4 master + 5 kingo, go behind just like this and use skill. Some people do sotc INTO windstorm, but that was before windstorm nerf so probably just better to do 2-3 sotc in a row. If you don't have yasakani yet, then stick with master swordsman 4pc + whatever light armor you can find to keep weight down (don't want to be c agility ever).

might be, just get all other stats first (not 99), then whatever lvls you have left start raising skill. 99 in any stat is usually only just for damage. You'll be weaker for sure, but you're also facing stuff weaker since your only 70-100.

+5 should drop from omi region ng+ (new game + = way of the strong. It's easier to just say ng+), +6 can drop from lv330 missions but really rare. You need the first dlc for Way of the demon. It unlocks just like how you unlocked ng+, except you need to beat queens eyes mission on ng+ (i think), or maybe beat dlc region on ng+. +6-16 can drop in wotd, obviously the higher drops in the last two regions.

yah full kingo's is fine, you lose final blow damage (in this vid) but gain 7% ccd. Also, if you haven't seen the new update video (320, main vid on my channel), switch to kara-jishi. Kara provides more damage due to the 1st skill it gives, boosting windstorms damage past kato because it activates on 1st hit of animation, the rest of the storm is increased by some 45% damage.

pretty much, 320 turns into 160 now. Can still forge 160's, but I do bout the same damage as the one in this video (bit more obviously), so it still trivializes end-game haha just means I may not kill things in one spin O.O

This is more like Diablo loot/addiction wise, so if you've never played that, then you probably won't understand the concept of destroying things fast and as efficient as possible. Of course you don't have to lock yourself into windstorm, do whatever you want, i just show the most effective ways to go about clearing fast. Feel free to change stance, ki pulse, sign of cross, water shadow, etc etc :)

idk, i wouldn't touch builds before way of the wise hit a couple months ago, i feel this is too out dated, and also windstorm was nerfed. using any full set or combo setup like this should do okay in ng or ng+, maybe even demon, but wise and nioh you need to do a better setup.

Man please help me. I'm level 180 and I almost copied this build but it fails with still very low damage. I tried it against frog boss in way of the strong and spammed windstorm and it took around ten windstorms to kill it. I'm starting to feel desperate. Jesus this seems better than my build. XD I have a damage from behind build on my character that's pretty powerful yet not to powerful like this lol, how do I inherit the attack on the gloves to other stuff?

well this build gets skill damage as well, same for final blow, so lots of things contribute. But to inherit you simply gotta find gloves that can inherit it :p So the symbol to the left of the stat (inherit symbol) needs to be to the left of Attack on a pair of gloves, then max familiarity, use the item you want attack on as the base, then put the attack gloves as the material, then it should pass attack to your armor piece.

yah if you have just a 150, you can get it to +1 by soul matching with a +1 item. unfortunately you cannot soul match a 150 to 150+5 to make a 150+5 or something, it'll turn into just 150+1. so 150's can only become +1 when combined with a + equipment.

reforge if you can. You can go dex+skill, but you won't gain as much. If change to x is inheritable and thus you can't reforge it, soul match with something else to erase the change to attack, allowing you to reforge change to attack on a different stat. Or you can wait around 4pm est, I'll be dropping my gear as revenant at the time for a bit, so you can get the exact same stuff as I have. I'll be streaming it so you'll know when it's happening if you subscribe.

drops randomly. there's a mission that rewards a pair in 4th or 5th region if I remember, but if you're past that or done all missions in those regions than you can get them again through that means.

soul match two of the same gear (weapon + weapon or armor + armor) that has a + number. So a +1 combined with a +1, makes a +2. To get +7, you need two +6's etc. But you need a +1 as a base (so revenant gear is a no no since it's plain 150's). I'll see if I can make a video later as this question is brought up time to time.

Not atm, but you can use this build, just use kato, 5kingo+3warrior of the west (sword+bow+armor piece), ysakani magatama charm to allow you to wear both. And just use mid-stance attacks behind an enemy, should be powerful.

With Sloth it's bananas because you now have looooong openings to charge your Iai into their buttbutt. Have you tried Kara-Jishi spirit? It gives an attack boost when you use a skill, such as Windstorm. I'm curious if it can outpace the Kato bonuses (doubt it but you never know).

It does. I recently switched to kara-jiri for the Blender. Can one shot oda in oda+yuki quest. One shot otani. one shot hino-enma (lv320 wpn tho, but it still does more than kato, tested both with 320, kara jiri allowed the one shots). However this only applies to duel swords windstorm, since 1st tick damage activates it and the rest of skill animation does boosted damage. For katana you'd want kato. Kara jiri added some 45% damage buff I'd heard. I'll show it off in a 320 wpn montage tomorrow.

For Sword you could do it simply by doing a Ki Blast or such before you run behind, how long does the buff last? Each Iai after that would refresh the buff.

yah gloves can transfer attack on everything else, so long as they have that symbol next to attack. Usually best way of getting such gloves is killing revenants.

Probably missing the 12 in stamina and 6 in str. You also got to order the armor pieces in the right places. Chest is heaviest, so you're lightest piece, in this case sanada, should be on chest. Kingo for the rest of the pieces.

Looks like you crafted your Kingo's Armor? The requirements are all 6/6 instead of 13/13. This is confusing because it's all level 150 and you're around level 180. Did you stop at 150 to craft a full set?

150 is the max lvl for equipment through normal means, regardless of level. you can be 750, gear you find will be 150. 160 is the max from forging and is really rare. Yes I crafted Kingo's, most people can as its smithing text to craft it is unlocked by a ng mission. Forging cuts original requirements by half, so you save a good amount of points from forging.

Oh okay, thank you. I was under the impression you forge gear at your current level. I forged a 159 kingo boots a few minutes ago at character level 156. Was just confused that's all.

means you got lucky. if you beat the 320 ng+ mission, the highest you can forge is 160. Apparently if you've done lower missions than that you they can be anywhere from 151-159, though I don't know the criteria.

yasakani magatama. Acts as an a extra "set" piece to any set piece you use. only found in ng+ and higher difficulties (so not first playthrough of the game/regions).

stack amrita earned as much as a possible on gear (amrita earned using living wpn 28%+ on charms is the main bulk of exp, have to use lw though), drink seisatsu sake, use suzaku/mizuchi as main spirit and saoirse as secondary, then do stages like ghost of sawayama, demon king revealed, or marobashi. fastest way to level once you have tokai/omi region unlocked.

no, not your sub wpn. only agility boost and maybe 1-2 more niche effects on ranged wpns will effect your main wpn dmg. but you can't have an axe and sword effecting each other.

No idea. you can't go wrong with kingo though. And windstorm is still the same so I imagine its still viable. Can't provide much more than that, the build's over two months old, I've long since replaced it and respecced many times over to keep content coming to the channel.

generally, dual swords has devolved into one trick pony sign of the cross now (90% DS builds are sotc or rely on it heavily). windstorm was nerfed pretty heavily, so unsure if it's viable anymore. there's random slice but its awkward to use and damage isn't better than usual sotc spam.

there is none. "The rising shadows" quest has 100% chance to give you them as quest reward, always divine in ng+. If you've already done that quest and got rid of them by selling or dismantling, then your SOL. you now have to find them randomly. Just do quick quest that give 2kats as a reward, which ever you can do the fastest.

I just started this game this week. and im maining dual sword. my 1st question is what element is yokai's weak at? 2nd is in skills there are lots of passive skills. does it effect all those passive skills even tho im using dual? like for example i learn some passive skills from AXE TYPE wpn will it take effect even tho im not using axe type wpn? thanks! :D

Hi, yokai varies, much like every enemy. there's no element that does great against all, but generally, lightning and water are best, and maybe wind. And yes, passives do effect any wpn, however they can't be wpn specific passives. Ex. axe fortitude will gain the health even if you're not using an axe, however that one passive that increases damage against yokai while using axe, you need to use an axe to gain that, obviously, since it states it. Mystic arts aren't shared.

prolly not. blade spins and windstorm were hit the hardest. SoTC is the best dual swords skill now (and is very powerful with star effect).

same wpn level? Same attack rating (1663)? Same clan (ishida)? max/near max Attack on all armor? using carnage against bosses? weakness talisman? that should be the only differences in damage, aside level and passives (lv183).

200 damage difference is a lot. If you got 1400 attack on wpn, and I got 1663, that's like 19% damage difference, pretty significant. Any lower than that and damage will be worse no matter what. And ishida is for skills only, but since you primarily spam windstorm, it's the best one. Also, if you haven't seen the updated vid (320 wpn blender update), use kara jishi, damage goes up by quite a significant amount compared to kato. Attack for armor needs to be transferred from gloves (inherit), but that's 70 damage added if you can get 20 each (35 at max fam). Incremental add up to a lot ;)

Thanks for your reply, for a ng+, you sure are inflicting a lot of damage to the monster. My level is at 275 right now and i already on the ng++. But even so, i still cannot kill the yokai or anything just like you do in the video

well windstorm was nerfed by like 20% or something, forgot exactly. If you want easy kills then sign of the cross using 4pc master swordsman set, and maybe star effect sign of the cross damage on dual swords will kill nearly everything in 1-3 shots. Windstorm isn't really that viable anymore, i imagine it'd be less effective the higher the difficulty.
