Very Nice review boys... so 2 questions... firstly, what is the major difference between the Hyrax and The Stage Max and Secondly Witch is the better all-rounder?
@WILDAIRSPORTS5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Neil! First things first, both bikes are absolute weapons. The major difference comes in rear travel (Stage Max is 127mm vs the Hyrax 140mm) and the the overall build construct (Stage Max is lighter and more streamlined vs the Hyrax is more robust, slacker and sturdy). From our perspective, technically most SA terrain can be ridden on both. That said, it depends on your personal preference. We break it down into a trail-marathon approach vs a trail-gravity approach. If you love longer distance rides and thrive in a marathon environment but still enjoy technical trail riding then the Stage Max is your bike. However, if you live for gravity and spend most of your time bombing descents but want the option to mix in the occasional longer ride or the odd stage race then we'd say go for the Hyrax. Both are all-rounders it just depends what each individuals riding spectrum looks like as to which one to go for. Long story short, we've spent a decent amount of time on both and we're big fans!

Thanks for the Reply. I have a Stage Max and ABSOLUTELY love it. That Bike is simply amazing. I do a bit of everything, and it's never disappointed me. Thanks for a great channel, good to see some decent local content.

@@neilaspeling2317 Awesome Neil! We're big fans of the Stage Max too and it's our go-to weapon for marathon stage races and Doug even sends the local enduro lines on it!

Great review! I have the "US" version (27.5). Do you happen to have the bb height and geo specs for the 29er version? Curious how it changes and rides compared to the 27.5.

What is the tyre clearance like on the large with the 29 wheels?
@WILDAIRSPORTS5 жыл бұрын
It caters for up to 2.6 tyres so pretty roomy! Craig's running 2.4s on trail-wide rims and there's atleast 1cm each side of the tyre.
