The problem with these Munchausen’s kids is that they are trained from birth to be liars. They are instilled with a broken, fractured excuse of a moral framework. And the worst part is there’s no therapy for them. My husband contemplated ending his own life or going to prison just to escape his mother. That’s how bad the abuse gets for these victims. It’s difficult to rehabilitate them.

Its not just getting past it, its the act of reliving terrible memories forcibly and without control that likely made her leave.

I can’t blame her for wanting to leave him bc of the food hoarding issue. My grandma was raised during the Great Depression on a cotton farm where they had to grow a big ass garden and keep chickens bc they would regularly run out of food and start to starve. One of her baby siblings literally died from starving when her mom’s breast randomly stopped producing milk. She refused to throw any bit of off food away. She would cut mold off a muffin and eat the rest, or make us eat left overs 3/5 days in a row. My dad inherited this fear of not having food and after my grandma died he got really bad about not wanting to throw things away. In his house with just him he has 2 full refrigerators and 2 deep freezers and is convinced nothing can go bad if it’s frozen.
