Something I enjoyed seeing on your streams during your note-taking and theory crafting segments is that you show attention and curiosity to the smaller details of FFXIV's lore and world-building; its internal usage of its own terminology, symbology e.t.c. In turn it creates the type of audience centered around it, resulting in new perspectives or outlook that even a years-long player like me have missed or not been aware of. An example occurred in your stream when your chat noted how the arena of Coils of Bahamut's final fight resembled a Phylogenetic tree; a revelation that clicked many thematic links of the raid fight's context within FFXIV's setting. I'm thankful for you engaging the game on that level, as there aren't that many content creators in FFXIV at the moment that focuses around it, and I look forward to see your contributions, theory-crafting and perspective on that matter.

Wow. It's tradition in FFXIV to hold funerals and come together to honour fallen Warriors of Light and people involved in FFXIV's development. When the campfire minion was added, people started lining up in major cities with the minions to honour people who died in the months following. They were handing them out in abundance for free so people could join it. It's basically a tradition to do that now. Something people like doing for players is tours of all the zones too. Players will band together in a train of people that walk through all the zones as a walk in honour of the person's memory.

If you want to play through the story, I'd say that you'd only spend about 5-10% of your time doing actual gameplay. There is roughly 49 hours of voice acted story cut scenes, probably 150-200 hours of reading. 15-20 hours of running around. Then probably about 30 hours of mandatory gameplay via dungeons, trials, and etc. About 2/3rd of the voice acted content is in the last 2 expansions.

Not quite as fast as wow, but they share a lot of similar archetypes and they have classes with varying amounts of preplanning, micro or game knowledge. There's an upcoming expansion that will update some of the gameplay and removing many class restrictions (essentially cutting your choice down to faction, force or tech and favorite voice actor) I could ramble on forever, but if you have any interest, I'd recommend you give it a try - free accounts are able to go through the class stories and you can get a decent idea of the gameplay at 50. I made the switch around the same time as everyone else. I shared your exact level of rage at WoW and Blizzard. I've fallen in love with this game and it's world in more ways than I did with WoW. Welcome to Heavensward, man. Great to have you.

Odds are he won’t see this, but for me, a long time player of FFXIV, it has been like seeing the game again for the first time. Many new streamers have given us players something to enjoy even if it wasn’t the first time. I’m glad you’re enjoying the content so much and thank you for the fresh perspective on old content. I really look forward to what you create in the future. Best of luck going forward.

Didn't know you rolled on Crystal. Was getting ready to raid with friends and one of them said you were getting to HW and there was a welcome party. Glad I rushed over there to be a part of this.

God's, Rich, Asmon, and now Pyro, though there have been many more streamers have gotten this Heavensward send off. It's like the FFXIV community saying as one, "Welcome to your new home, enjoy the trip"!

I just finished Heavensward, Such a great story. this game blows wows story out of the water. Like i get it wow isn't a story based game like FFXIV but it just feels WoW struggles in the gameplay as well.

As someone who doesn’t have the patience to read the entire story and all quests logs. I can say everything about this game is better than wow. I’m a lvl 62 samurai and have been having an absolute blast.

Man, if you think HW blows WoW out of the water just wait for Shadowbringers xD

I wished I hadn’t tried to rush through heavenward but I wanted to get through story fast as possible not realizing how long it would take for me to still not be done and I feel like I rushed the part of the game that appealed to me most (almost done with shadowbringers keep hitting gear gate keeping)

Welcome to Heavensward!!! Congratulations, but you have to go back to Camp Dragonhead and talk to Alphinaud so you can enter Ishgard. You haven't seen anything yet. Your journey has only just begun!
