Therefore i can understand that if ppl say that on console its a better experience without giving a specific reason that has nothing to do with performance, its dumb. On another note ppl write comments here saying that console is better because they can play with a controller or from their couch. If you want to compare apples to apples spec to spec, maybe, but raw spec is far from the benefits of a computer. You cannot open up your PS5 and put in a new GPU, faster RAM, or upgrade the CPU to a higher spec of the same generation. You will no doubt anger the shit out of the prebaked OS. That's all without mentioning a capped framerate (Whether it's 30 or 60) that you cannot change by default on console ports.

Streamer isnt looking at it from a ONLY console player stand point. 30-60 fps is all console knows. They dont know what they're missing when it comes to 165hz monitors. The easy access and WAY cheaper option is console. That alone is enough to make someone content with it. Ive been on pc for years now, every time i go back to console my eyes hurt because of low frame rates. BUT i played on console a huge portion of my life growing up. I had no clue what i was missing and i was happy just to be able to play with my friends on the tv with a console. The streamer doesnt understand that, instead he just belittles someone who prefers console. Also, chat is poking and prodding him and making him mad. So no side is right here

@@fio_lume to answer the inferior experience thing for console players as i was one and shifted to pc, the answer is both yes and no, yes gshade absolutely makes the game look alot more alive and less dreary but is it needed to enjoy the game and visuals? not at all, are any of these quality of life add ons needed, for those with certain disabilities or weakening eyesight, yes. apparently *only just now* the devs are looking into doing more quality of life stuff for the ui and whatever else we may be missing that addons fill in, but with how long it takes the simplest things to be added, its gonna be a loooong while unless its treated as a priority

"but is it needed to enjoy the game and visuals?" was never a point. inferior doesn't mean bad or unenjoyable. it just means that there is something better. And GShade isn't even needed to get this comparison. In online play, where you are already dealing with delay thanks to server ping, ticks, and delay, you want as fast as possible incoming visual and outgoing input processing as possible. That's why you see quake players running their games at FPS numbers their screens can't even hope to render, sacrificing looks for gameplay, especially in offline tournaments. Thanks to the new pvp spike, stuff like this will play a role, however small. Locking the system to 60fps and the screen to possibly 24fps (if the TV doesn't have gamer mode aka. 30/60fps modes) because "you don't need more" just seems like such a weird thing to say. And then GShade and other visual mods that don't give you a clear encounter advantage are literally just there to make the game prettier, often at a slight loss of FPS. I know when i run the game at highest settings and some visual enhancement mods, i sit at 25-40 fps. So when i go into an encounter i just gotta turn down the settings to get back to 60. "are any of these quality of life add ons needed, for those with certain disabilities or weakening eyesight, yes" true, but visual alerts, color filtering and text size adjustments are in the game already, ontop of free button mapping and user macros. QoL add ons are often there to change the archaic systems that exist from a bygone era of gaming, in a game made originally for PS3. Most of them are for ease of access and user friendliness. And i agree, people will be using those for quite a while because the devs seem to take forever to adapt those QoL changes into their game.

On a more serious note, I've seen Pyro blow up in the past with his twitch chat but he needs to learn when to stop ranting because he goes over board. He's a good guy and I'm happy he's in our community, last thing I want is for him to be unofficially or officially kicked out. If there's anything I've learnt from FFXIV's story, its compassion, think how many characters in the game were given that opportunity and turned things around, I'd like to hope that he can do the same, the man deserves that much at least.

What most people and pyro fail to understand the console vs pc argument when it comes to FFXIV anyway is that the difference is negligible. Both systems support kbm or controller. I have friends that insist on playing controller because that’s what they are used to even after buying a laptop to play FF with kbm. He just couldn’t get used to it and stuck with the controller. Pyro’s argument about are there console only statics is dumb because like I said console also supports kbm. How he should have asked is are there controller only statics. But I’ve seen controller players do very well on some clips of high end raiding so this all falls on player skill. They literally designed the game to be controller friendly. 60fps/hz vs 144fps/hz when it comes to an mmo is the stupidest reason to get mad at your chat about lol. The fuck am I gonna gain from having higher than 60 frames and refresh rate in an mmo? See a trash mob turn the corner faster than a 60 hz player when the tank is doing a wall to wall pull? Great we are both gonna be tab targeting at the same rate and be aoeing at the same rate.

Most recent Pyromancer rant brought me here. This guy has such thin skin to be a steamer. Going off on his own community that literally pays for his lifestyle. When people say PS5 can run as good as PC. I played FFXIV on PC. I had to switch to PS5 for Endwalker due to my PC’s power supply dying on me. Aside from Gshade/Rshade & mods, my PS5 ran the game just as good or better than my PC. The game was built to be played on console. Thousands of console players are high end raiders. His attitude is one factor why his viewer count on Twitch is plummeting. Maybe that’s why he randomly starts raging. To gain some attention. But from what WoW players have said. Just matters what the pc is packing. As for addons I believe it is as simple as this Damage meter is really in the grey zone with benefits/negatives on both sides. Sea stone and sky sucks. Then for just strait up hug/convenience changes they should be more vigilant about adding them. However when you create high level raiding content like ultimate having 0 way to optimize or figure out what we are lacking is annoying. Arr raiding was hell for that and other reasons. I say if you want to remove enrages then fine I do not need to care about my damage or optimizing buffs worry about crits/DHs so on. Some people do like maximizing though.

First of all alot of people don't have time to build a computer and hours of time to play. Alot of people also don't need a computer, I'm satisfied with xbox and always will, I tried pc but I can't get into it, to be honest playing on console is fun af just love the simplicity and controller, and I prefer it. tbh xbox series x has 120 fps so 🤷 all I learned over the years is that pc players are conceided no it all assholes who have to put people down if they dont have the same fps or system as them while I'm here minding my own business happy to know that everyone has a chance to play games no matter what system your running.

i'll save yall a bunch of time. Console is objectively an inferior gameplay experience compared to a PC. You can go off a few different metrics to show this, frame rate being one of the biggest like pyro stated. A majority of the pushback is just from people that do not have access to a PC, its that simple. With controllers being very accessible to most PC games, it boils down to PCs can do every single thing a console can do, even play console exclusive titles with emulation. On the other hand consoles can do very little a PC can do even if we used a pc at the exact same price point of said console. It blows my mind people die on this hill.

I think it was meant in terms of base specs. Most people have a gtx 1060 in their computer, while the PS5 has the GPU equivalent of a 2070 Super. It's not copium either, I haven't touched a console since ps3 and currently run an rtx 3070 and r7 3700x
