I have found with my labradar that if I set the trigger source to doppler and select handgun for the velocity range, shooting subsonic suppressed I can still get readings. Thanks for being more transparent and open than other players in the gun game. If I were younger with less responsibilities I would want to be a part of what you guys have going on.

Ah Labradar challenges. Try handgun mode for those velocities or snag one of the JKLPrecision recoil triggers. Senses the shock of the gun instead of using the mic or doppler.

Nice stable peak subsonic numbers. :) Are you showing supersonic numbers soon? To me, that's the variable. This design will naturally put up good sub numbers no doubt. But what development and experimentation can do for supers is the wildcard, the *and that shows what this sucker can REALLY do as a versatile hunting and tactical cartridge.

Is it the barrel or the muzzle device? That's a common problem with open prong muzzle devices, they ring like a tuning fork.

Even with other devices other then the three prong or four prong flash hiders, Comps and breaks don't normally sound so low in tone and with such little "ring" in the air. I am no expert so I assumed it was coming from the fitting of barrel to receiver more then muzzle device.

Hey, give the R.A.T. trigger a try! It's a recoil activated trigger system that's a simple plug and play on the LABradar. Worked wonders for me as I shoot on average 150 rounds a week thru mine for work.

What sort of of rotational kinetic energy numbers are you estimating? I couldn’t find a good moment of inertia equation for a bullet, but when I did some quick calculations I was seeing around 50 ft lb assuming for 1100 f/a (~approx sub) and then around 140 for 2000 f/s. Does your solid works simulate this well?

The standard it was designed around was 12.5" bbl, for both. Clearly it's still going to work fine in a 16" bbl, but if the subs are that fast in a 12, you might be tickling the top of subsonic with a 16". If anything, this means it'll suppress even better from a 10" due to a slight velocity drop allowing the air around the bullet to be slightly less perturbed/transonic. @@ravissary79 there are 10in bbl gas guns in the wild being tested (I think Todd Huey has one) so always trying to see where they "officially" land. Velocity looks great on the bolt in that length but want to see how gas system and bbl length, together, play out. No way would I want 16in in this, already have SBR receiver waiting to build out.

@@mrrogers2611 either 10 or 12 is fine. My question is, what gas system? Because for a bit there, the trend in ar10 pistols was 12.5" with mid length gas, apparently it makes for smoother cycling if you can get the timing right in the design. But that's 308, a larger, slower burning column of propellant, typically optimized for 18-20" bbls. A smaller, faster burning column of propellant optimized for 12" will likely require a shorter gas system to have enough port pressure and dwell time with both subs and supers. So guessing that I bought an adjustable carbine length system. Since I'm running a lighter BCG than standard, and because that's not always advisable for suppressed guns, I figured being being to tune it in the sweet spot might be a necessity.

what does this caliber do that isn't already on the market? seems like a dumb gimmick and requires a very uncommon twist rate, which doesn't help its case. it is just a shortened and downloaded .338 federal.... I'm not sure if I believe the whole "rotational energy" claim. Can someone explain this to me if I am missing something?
