I’ll take a guess, Rolex market it is not dead, prices adjusted and you just need to buy cheap and sell higher than what you paid for OR buy only the things you plan to enjoy, however now we have a buyers market contrary to 2020-2023 which was a sellers market.

Just to give an honest opinion as this guy in the show keeps it. Props btw. But the rolex models from early 2000s till 2020 is basically extremely mass production so don't experience them go 10x as the vintages

Hi David, Looking at purchasing an AK - I like the dial of the 126900 but prefer the case shape of the 116900. With the latter also being cheaper than the latest iteration. Which would be your preference and why?

@@Mr.Khalil08 for what reason would you choose it, because it’s been discontinued or just more traditional ? I much prefer the newer version with the crown guards, 05 & lume within in the numbers it makes it look more of a sports watch & more symmetrical 👍🏻

Why are dealers so sensitive about that slogan “ the watch market is dead “ ? No need for anyone to justify that their business is doing ok. Many of us want watches to come back to more reasonable prices. No way a submariner or a regular Daytona should be investments. They are luxury purchase to enjoy and may be get most of your money back when you sell them after few years. As the watch market keeps dipping , it’s becoming more challenging for some dealers. They have to sell quick. Holding stocks is no more a good option.

Nice video David. I do think that people commenting on watch market is dead doesn’t necessarily mean that they want to see you fail. I think many real watch collectors are just put off by AD games and the falsely inflated watch prices. These can kill off the watch hobby if persisted long enough. Cheers

Your advice on my current dilemma. I have about 50 watches, most of which have no wrist time. Many vintage Omega. I buy what I like, but sometimes after buying them realize that the “hunt” is over and loose interest except for the next watch in my sights. I can down size, but have sentimental attachments/perceived rarity (real or not)/and I am a habitual collector (I have 70 hats, many Panama) of antiques and firearms. How would you advise a guy like me? The “Habitual Collector” Thank you for possibly addressing my issue(s)

I have a question about Serti Dial Rolex 16613's. Do you or anyone know how many of these were made? Mine is a rarity question... for example if for every 100 (5 digit) steel submariners there were say ten 16613 blue dial watches, and for every 10 of those maybe 1 serti ? Does anyone know if Serti's are 1 in 100 submariners or one in 50 etc....?

I’d expect street criminals to want to steal anything that they can easily sell. (Assuming they’re just scum) If it’s a crack-head they’re going to also go for anything that looks expensive in anyway that they can sell for £50 for the next hit. Regards wearing watches in London. I have always worn approx £10K on my wrist. But then I worked in the city - not Leicester Square. I might think twice on a night out drinking. Asides that - can honestly say it doesn’t bother me. Even with the Daytona’s / hype models. If you don’t know the areas you’re going to - well then act accordingly as you would anywhere else in the world.

The statement that you are going to be a target wherever you go is incorrect. In most parts of Asia you will not. I lived in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and the Philippines for over 15 years and have never had an issue daily wearing an expensive watch. Same would be true in South Korea and many other Asian countries. I would not dare to do so in London as I'd be attacked in under 24hrs...

@@Mr.Khalil08in every video there seems to come a part where you address your “haters” and people leaving disparaging comments about you as if they don’t matter to you and as if you’re above them. If something genuinely has no effect on you then generally you don’t feel the need to fixate on it and constantly comment and vent about it. I think you can’t help but come across as condescending and above others for some reason because those who tend to be positive forces for good tend to focus on positive things instead of negative and you seem to do the opposite often, by commenting on others behaviour and negative trends in others in the watch community. For the reasons why you do that, only you can answer that I’m afraid and that will require your own personal self reflection. I hope you can turn it around and instead give passionate videos that share your knowledge in an uplifting way to the watch community instead of fixating so much on those you dislike and disagree with. It’s jarring and tedious to watch you rant and critique things like this in this masked calm demeanour I find. If you just focus on sharing interesting knowledge and experience as someone who has grown up in a watch dealer family it would be far more interesting and insightful. Good luck to you.

I see what you mean and sorry if it comes across that way but this is a first. I take pride in keeping my head down and never try to show off. In regards to negative comments about others, I don't believe I discuss anything out of topic on my channel nor do I ever mention anyone's name and for the way I answer the so called haters you mention, well I try to answer as many questions as politely as I can and address the manner the comments have been made with. For example, I assume that you are talking about the part where I mention people continously making laughing comments with the remark that the watch market is dead. Firstly the comment is not true and secondly the laughing faces only indicate a very hateful person getting off on someone else's misery. Somehow you say I come across as the bad one. Ps, you say in every video but i assume you mean the Q&As. The nature of the video is to reply to all the comments, the good and the bad. I never address any comments when I'm reviewing a watch or discussing a subject. Mainly just q&a videos. Regardless I appreciate the feedback and overall I try to keep the content positive and educational and hopefully people find it useful.

That’s not true, obviously the a.d. is not going to sell a model that trades significantly higher than Msrp to customers with no purchase history but they will sell you a Rolex model that trades at Msrp or below to new customers but a Batgirl a Pepsi a Daytona Panda a Bruce Wayne any stainless steel Daytona celebration dial models absolutely not without purchase history why would they sell you a watch that trades well above Msrp on the gray market?????

Luxury Pre Owned Market , how appealing does that read !. Grey Market , ' ere guv meet me on the Tesco carpark at 8pm and we can do a deal ' reads bloody awful doesn't it. There are quite a few pre owned dealers on youtube who to me don't do themselves any favours by refering to themselves in one way or another as the Grey Market.
