Hello Swedish Plantguys, thanks for taking on my question about the P.Micans. What has been beneficial to many of my struggling pants in the past is to wait for the summer and leave them outside in the shade and rain, which I believe kind of supports your suggestions on your "All you need to know about fertillizing your green indoor plants" video. I've done that with this plant and also pruned it back, but that has made no difference and it's been a few weeks. I will try and transplant it in new soil next. So frustrating

Awesome! I do this with my philodendron as well - when the vines get too long I will wrap them a bit around the pot and pin them back up in the soil where a node can shoot roots back down into the soil. Over time this makes the plant so full and lush. Thanks for another great video!

Thank you so much for answering my question about golden pothos vine propagation! :) And I have an update for you - after leaving the vines like that for a few weeks (on soil, but I covered the root nodes with a tiny bit of soil, mb like a few mm) I started to notice that leaves started to become more and more lifeless.. droopy, and really sad looking - and root nodes were not showing any progress, even though I kept the soil moist. I was a bit afraid to give it more time (as it looked worse and worse...), so I decided to save it and propagate it the more usual way - cut each leave separately and put them in soil. And it worked like a charm! Leaves have started to straighten up, look shinier, I checked on a few root nodes and as of now they have 4-6 cm long roots AND each leave started to shoot its own baby vine! :D I'm so happy! :) From 11 leaves only one didn't recover :) Thank you again for such awesome videos - I'm such a newbie when it comes to plants and I learned so much from you! :)

Dear Swedish Plant Guys, should I get rid of a houseplant with springtails? It's a schefflera that I just got, and I haven't put it next to my other plants yet. I'm worried that the springtails might spread. I can only see a few insects appearing under the pot. There's information online that they're useful critters eating decaying matter, fungus etc, but I can also find information that encourages to get rid of these insects. Please share your wisdom! Thank you for the amazing content! :)

Thanks for such great info. I live in so. NJ, USA...Last fall I cut back three Golden Flame Spirea plants. Always grew well. They became too big for the space and were crowding out other Little Princess Spirea growing between those 3. I had never pruned them in the 5 years of growth. This season the green leaves were beautiful, the pink flowers bloomed for 2 wks only. Now the blooms are brown and plants look poorly. What should I do now? I am tempted to prune again.

Can you please film a video all about ferns. I have a heart leaf fern in a self watering pot and the new growth is not as green.. it is more in the yellowish side. Also, I have a maiden hair fern and would love to hear any guidance you can offer regarding plant care. Ty!

i would love to see a video where u show how you actually attach pothos/philodendron to the stuff they climb on, because i have a young philodendron that i would love to have climb on some structure but i have no idea how you are supposed to do that.

Hello from Estonia 🇪🇪 I ordered Ficus Tineke a month ago and received it in a perfect condition. I placed it in a North East window getting early morning sun. The lower leaves are turning brown on the edges. I don't think I'm over watering it bec I make sure the top soil/3cm is dry before I water it. Is it a nutrition deficiency? Am I underwatering it? I also noticed that it's not doing anything it seems stagnant and the emerging new leaf is still the same since I got it. What's wrong with my plant 😓

If it is a semi hydro system (pumice and some clay balls in a netted pot) and a resevoir with nutrient below, through the wicking action, does the pumice actually carry the nutrients up as well? Since they dont have CEC. And if it does, does this mean the clay balls would hold on to the nutrients which has been wicked up by the pumice?

I have a Massangeana that died in the cold winter Florida had in 2022. I left it and forgot about it but now it has sat new leaves. I don't know if it is attached to the cane or came from a root. Please help and thanks.

I want to exchange the soil in some of my houseplants to pumice. Do you recommend washing off the soil around the roots before planting in pumice? Some of my plants have problems with fungus gnats that I’ve been unable to get rid of. What are your recommendations? I really enjoy your videos.

I hear a lot about fertilizing during the active months since during the winter plants go "dormant". However I live in a tropical country (The Philippines 🇵🇭) and we only have 2 seasons (Summer and Rainy). I've noticed that my plants have new growth on both seasons. Does that mean I can fertilize anytime of the year?

I have a question for you guys. In spring I cut down a few of my plants to force them to branch out. They did. My ficus elastica sent out 3 side shoots but one of them stopped growing after reaching about 2 cm. The other 2 are growing and already have a couple leaves each. The one that stopped still looks like a bud and doesn't seem to be doing anything. A couple of my dracaenas did something similar. All of those plants get a good amount of indirect sunlight and about the right amount of water, so I don't know what else I could do to make them more comfortable. Humidity? I live in northern Arizona - not hot, high altitude, but still pretty dry. Do you know a trick to make those "stuck" side shoots grow again?
@dontevenask41134 жыл бұрын
Update: By now the second side shoot seems to have stopped. It has 1 leaf and 1 pretty promising looking bud but wouldn't budge. So out of all 3 side shoots 1 is growing like crazy, one seems to have stopped after 1 leaf and one is just a tiny bud with no signs of life in it.

My question is about Monstera Deliciosa. I had a large monstera plant that was growing a lot and getting big. I split the plant up and repotted them into 3 different pots. All 3 had nice size roots when I reported them. It’s been over a month and I have not seen any new leaves sprouting. Im worried that I have stunted its growth. Will the ever produce more leaves?
@AfterAFashionASMR4 жыл бұрын
It could be that the plant is currently concentrated on rebuilding its root system. Whenever you disturb a root system I find that the pant concentrates more on that before shooting out a lot of new growth. If the leaves you already had haven’t started dropping or dying off then it’s probably fine and will grow again in time, but hopefully the Swedish Plant Guys can give you more info in an upcoming Q&A.
