I have met so many people who are not like-minded and very shallow, yet I've also met like-minded individuals to myself, full of depth. I am now 29 and I've met so many wonderful people along the way. I've often engaged in conversations with random strangers and my friends wonder how. I am so grateful for my journey and all the beautiful experiences I've encountered along the way. I'm probably not at all an average subscriber of yours (a young man in my early 20s) but I just wanna say that your videos have given me a much-needed dosage of optimism and positivity. I'm about to move to a new country (Ireland, specifically) and with social distancing and everything it has been hard to find optimism, but everytime I watch one of your videos I feel a renewed sense of control and calm. I live in Australia and was meant to travel to Italy to see family and for a holiday in July. It's winter here and lately, I've been yearning for the holiday I didn't get to have. For the sun, for the beach, for hot summer evenings. I've also just started university and just feel so overwhelmed at how banal and mundane life seems at the moment. I thought your advice for that young college student was wonderfully insightful. Your comments about office politics, ego and pointless meetings help to illustrate the vague mindless one-dimensional construct that so many aspire to. This truly suppresses that innovation engine, now just a cog in the wheel. At 67 I can honestly say I have worked for myself most of my life, not the easiest path, none the less it is the one I chose. You might add this advice to that same student, do not spend so much of your time in books or institutions, traveling the world is our best classroom, fresh air, the food for inspiration and creativity. Never cease chasing your dreams, at any age, learning is that perpetual state of motion always moving forward. To me, anyway. I remember starting shooting, at 12, with my first camera which my dad gave me - a POLAROID. It had only 8 shots on a roll, and a roll of film cost me all the money I earned over four Friday nights of work after school. I learned how to compose when I only had two shots per week. I wonder - having seen some of your beautiful camera movements - whether you might love filming , in a lingering manner, some ‘north light’ still life , fruit , food, perhaps whilst cooking...possibly in a chiaroscuro, maybe Vermeer style...if you like the thought. I lived in Germany for a few years, worked among my Italian counterparts, had many wonderful multi-cultural experiences, and fell truly in love for the first time with an incredible Italian gentleman. He invited me to his hometown in Italy, and I met his entire family. I learned more about the Italian culture and leaned to speak Italian fluently in just a couple of months. Although the union was short lived, it was through him that I saw such beautiful perspectives and learned so many valuable lessons about love. Surely, I had my highs and lows in the relationship as well but I met so many incredible people from all walks of life while living abroad in Germany, and it made me blossom into the woman I am today. It was an incredible, AMAZING and unforgettable experience that I will always cherish. Finding joy in life is being grateful for even in the smallest and simplest of experiences, and cherishing every bit of it like a gift. Never take any of it for granted. You remind me a lot of me. You're a kind soul with a big heart, adventurous and highly creative. A kindred spirit whom I appreciate very much. We search for the same things. Baths are a time to rejuvenate and reflect. Just to mention, I am conquering the same problem now, as I design my bathroom...hiding shampoo bottles that distract from the mood I’m trying to create. A bit tough on a budget. ☺️ Your videos are captivating and instantly made me curious about you and your life. Next thing I watched was your Q&A.
