I think a lot of people would be really interested in that "halal dating" topic since people are nowwanting to hide a lot it's good that someone is willing to openly talk about something like this

Why do you wear a hijab? I'm a Muslim and read the Qur'an it doesn't say anything in there that you have to wear it, it's says be modest in the time you live in but that's basically it

+AH M nope its 100% obligatory for a muslim to wear it like the person above posted the evidence also ask yourself why your wearing the hijaab the hijaab is a honour for every girl its to show obedience the your creator showing that your love for Allah swt is strong hijaab is a muslim girls identity and you should be happy that Allah swt has blessed you and has allowed you to wear the scarf and not remove it :) asalamu alaikum

Things aren't just halal or haram. The islamic world isn't black or white. It's so important that we educate ourselves in islamic history, law etc.. When i read the comments (not just of this video) it makes me sad. People playing 'haram police', pointing out each others mistakes and giving thoughtless fatwas. Muslim scholars were open minded, prudent and so respectful with each other even when they had huge disagreements. The community in general was sympathetic, kind and respectful. It's so disappointing to see that we turn the great islam - a profound and perceptive religion - in something light-minded and trivial. May Allah forgive us. InshaAllah will our community find back to the roots.

Seriously, can all the Haram Police just get a life please? "Why bother wearing hijab when I can see some of your hair, might as well take it off!". WTF?! Are you for real?! So if I spill a drop of milk on the carpet I should just pour the whole glass?! Dina I love your style, thank you for showing us that we women can be modest AND stylish at the same time! I'm converting to Islam and it's a little tough because I don't have many muslim friends (I'm hispanic and my family is catholic) mainly bc most of the muslim girls in my area are kinda mean and judgemental so I'm kinda alone in the process, which really i dont mind lol but anyways I like that you're so real and talk openly about Islam. @Vogue345
@Vogue345 9 жыл бұрын
Bringing up your child trilangual inshallah would be amazing. I was brought up like that. The best way to do it is that both parents strictly always speak to the child in their language, so you'd only speak to him/her in arabic and sid only in pashto (it's better for you not to try to speak pashto with him/her and vice versa, as that could confuse the child. Plus, it would learn english quickly anyway by just playing with other kids, kindergarten and stuff, it will be all around anyway, so you should make sure that the child only speaks arabic to you and only pashto to sid inshallah, so they don't forget their languages if that makes sense;) May Allah make things easy for you and bless your family, ameen. loved the video and would love to see your hijab story and "halal dating" videos :)

+Linaa Tayyem Even though its not religion its bcause of other factors. Many have said that if your from your own culture, speak same language, same mentalliity etc then its easy to find someone from ur own background, its natural, but when they date or marry outside of their culture then it seem desperate and naive, because mostly its for the wrong reasons, if u cant get on with someone from ur own culture who speaks same language and who is more lkely to have mental chremistry then how can u get along with someone from outside of ur culture? so when they marry it looks degrading and embarassing. But if ur non-muslim or not practicing and born in the same country i.e. UK or USA then ur parnets country or religion dont matter. As a Pakistani girl born in the West I never get along with my fwllow Pakistanis, not most of them, and nearly all my Pakistani female freinds do not ever date Pakistani men, now these women are ighly educated, pretty tall slim and intelligent, yet are not practcing Muslims,. Lastly Pakistanis are different to rachother then foreigners can u believe? i.e. caste and sect issue, different languagesm dialtects, culture etc..Punjabis are different to Karachi people, and Kashmires are different to Pakistanis. Pasthuns like Sids and his family are totally different to most Pakistanis in the UK as British Pakistanis are mostly Punjabis or Kashmiries but NORTHERN PUNJABIs, not Lahories or Karachis like in the US and Canada. I have a white boyfriend and we have had sex, yet my parents are Pakistani and Muslims, but am happy, am independent, I have a good job, I achieved more then people even eolder then me, so why cant I be happy and have sex with my man? who cares if we aint married, its natural and makes uh appy, it released enrdorphins, meaning 1 session of sex can make u happy for all week, makes u intelligent, because it release dopanine and serotiniun levels, makes u less bitter, less frustrated etc and makes u have a good life, this is a fact. Ur not harming anybody, ur loving ur life like I am, I dont care about Islam, I care about being a good person, which I know I am.

These comments about Dina needing to cover her hair are very annoying. She's been getting these comments for years, but she hasn't changed. I understand that some of you believe that as Muslims you need to inform another Muslim of his/her wrongdoings, but it's obvious that Dina has made up her mind about how she chooses to wear her headscarf. This does not make her a bad person. She is like us all. We all sin differently. Again, why keep saying it if she doesn't care?

Agreed. She's been informed, she is also aware she's not covering her hair in the proper way, it's not like she doesn't know. However, the only issue I don't think she seems to realise is that she is a seen as a role model to a lot of girls/women, so when she's being imitated, she MAY have to answer for it

I read your article, and it really hit home a lot of the questions you mentioned are the ones I've struggled with. The most difficult is being ripped apart by the Muslim community who constantly criticize how our hijab isn't perfect that's the most hurtful. I don't expect non-Muslims to understand hijab (although some might and actually respect it more than some Muslims), I'm okay with the racism or labelling that non-Muslims may brand me with upon first meeting me because of the hijab but it's members of the Muslim community who have this narrow perception of the "perfect hijabi" which does not exist just like the "perfect Muslim" doesn't that is the most difficult to deal with. & you're absolutely right, just like you mentioned in your article that the point is to try but it's that much harder when our own are so negative towards our efforts however small. Thank you again Dina, I look forward to your video about the hijab.

your right every muslim knows what the appropriate dress code in Islam is dina knows its up to her to decide how to cover herself
@serendipityculture1679
@serendipityculture1679 9 жыл бұрын
+Jani Hasi Because many females wear Hijab to cover their insecurities, they may not look good without Hijab, maye not be that attractive so use Hijab and Islam to make them feel better, to me that is wrong, and using Islam for the wrong reasons and always comes back eventually where it exposes the wrongful attitdudes. Islam is an ancient law and Hijab was cultural before Islam too, it was set in the context of times, these days people do not care about Hijab, look at white girls and non-muslim women who wear sexy clothes and have good lives, are they not human? what does Hijab do? nothing these days. Many women do not even know much about Islam yet wear the Hijab. I mean seriously would a model type woman ever wear Hijab? I never seen 1 Am not sayong Dina is bad looking, am just saying the more prettier, tall and slimmer/sexy a girl is the more educated she is likely to be and that means less chance of wearing Hijab. Many Muslims have taken off their Hjjab and never worn one yet have had good lives, got good jobs, have respct from communuty and for themselves, marry decent educated men and have lovely children, have beautiful sex and basically love life, so point is Hijab actually keeps u behind in life. The reward is in this life, be a good person and ur rewared with a fantastic life. Its natural to want attention, to want people oompliment u and want sex with a good looking sexy tall fair skinned guy or girl, u can't dp that if u wear Hijab. If u wear Hijab on holidays in non-muslim countries then u would get stared at, u feel uncomfortab;le and even beaten up, u have less chance of getting a career/job, less chance of attracting a man, speacially a attractive tall fair skinned intelligent guy, I read this in statistics based at UN ,google and newsweek. So point is Hijab means nothing in this day and age. Am an non-practicing Muslim and never worn the Hijab, wore it once but never liked it, it did not suit me, why should I wear Hijab hey? does nothing for me. I feel sexy and modest withou Hijab, I feel good, I feel natural, I feel happy and I feel I have high esteem and confidence, that is why most attractive women do not wear Hijab.

First things first, you are an inspiration to me and I'm very glad you are happy! I feel like you may not know how much of an rare and unique individual you are but, as muslim and enjoyer of all things funny and good, I have loads of respect for you and this is so unbelievably tacky but I look at you and all the things you've accomplished and how caring, devoted, and just very awesome and how you're always yourself and honest to yourself as we see to the videos. You're very witty and a bit silly but you don't try to cover it all up and as a person who is always worried about schoolwork, the future, and how people interpret me as, I can truly say that you are a relief to see. Anyways, I just think you're full of awesomeness and there's many great things to come from you. On another completely different note, so here goes for the baby names: Farah( this name is quite rare and can be used to both genders but mostly, I've known it to be feminine), Layla or Leila( I love this name, it translates into night which I think is beautiful) Khadija (mother of Islam, so to speak and the prophet's first wife. It's pretty common), Suwairraya(I have no idea if I spelled that 100% correctly. SUH-WARE-RAA is how you pronounce it. I love the name, Aisha, and would definitely name a child that if it were me. Ahmed, for a boy, maybe. I've have loads of friends with huge, wonderful personalities named Farhiya or some variation of that. These aren't muslim names but here goes: Cassiope, Alexandria, Ingrid, Calliope, Indigo, and Mellie (Amelia), Juliette, Dalila ( this can be used universally but it's quite rare and it's the name of my elementary school Bosnian, muslim friend. There are variations of this name, too). Zalata (also, the name of my elementary school Bosnian, muslim friend. I had two of them). Lastly, Samia or Sofia, and Aya.

Hi, Dina! I have a question. How do muslims get to know each other before they get married if they are tecnically not allowed to date. How do you sprnd time together and know that he/she is the one? Do you have something similar to dating like courting for example, or do you just get engaged? Sorry if i ask stupid question but i really wanna know. Also i am loving your headscarf!
@surayabhrdn

If the man is attracted to her, he's supposed to meet her parents and propose. If she agrees, then they'll get engaged. (Its better to be friends first, though). During the period between the engagement and the wedding, they get to know each other better. And if they get along, the relationship goes on!

All I know is that you should refrain from non-marital sexual contact in Islamic relationships between Muslim guys and girls. The rest I mean going out for a lunch, sitting next to each other, seeing a movie, celebrating special moments, they can't be all prohibited right? Don't we girls have friends that are males, yeah hell we do. I'm living in Turkey (mostly Muslim) , and almost never have I seen anyone against what young people do to get to know each other before marriage. :) common belief if that young people find their companions on their own, be friends within the Islamic limits, be sure of each other and eventually marry. duh. :) hope that makes sense.

+betyl If we're speaking technically from Islam then no we can't have male friends, we shouldn't associate with any males that aren't our mahram. But yes it's not really something that many people follow. I was brought up with my male cousins and spend a lot of time with them which isn't really allowed since they're not my mahram even though they have always been like my brothers so it's not something I follow strictly either.

ASC WR WB everyone. I have quick question and believe me, I'm not trying to be rude or anything. I like Dina, Masha Allah she is funny and I hope her channel thrive and does well. I'm just a bit confused and this question is not just directed to Dina herself, but also other sisters. If you wear a scarf (turban, normal scarf, etc.) to cover your head in order to follow your faith, what's the point of showing a bit of hair? or you neck? Fashion reasons? Sorry, I just don't understand,

+riyaan some people have trouble w/ insecurities and stuff...sometimes they think it looks better. plus its really surprisingly difficult bc suddenly you feel very dull or simple and sometimes you feel youre not pretty anymore. so you do what you can i guess lol..some ppl r still getting using to it

riyaan i personally think that every inch of the body that is covered is good. i dont think we can judge and determine the status of someone`s modesty, but generally in comparison what we can see today, even if its the case of turban, jeans, its better and more modest than what is generally promoted on tv, magazines etc. we all basically know what is prohibited but it is simply harder for some to do do everything that is required and in the proper way. ;) Dina is not really my role model but i love her, and respect her, and have great opinion of her in every sense. esselamualaykum
@laydeeXlethal
@laydeeXlethal 9 жыл бұрын
You have to remember modesty does not just come down to covering your hair it's everything beyond. Yes covering your hair is hijab too because your hair is seen as an ornament as with a woman's breast and general body shape. Some females may feel as if they show their neck on a hot day in comparison to any other ornament on their body they are not breaking code. Obviously the ideal muslimah will be covered head to toe but those that are struggling may start by prioritising their hijab until they eventually feel more comfortable being completely covered. Believe it or not hijab is easy as said than done when in the west there are constant pressures to fit in.

AH M Asik Lejla laydeeXlethal Jazakumu'Allahu khayr sisters. I just always wondered and didn't want be rude by asking someone face to face. They might feel that I'm judging them or something and I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable:) Now, I understand. I was raised in a Muslim country in which from a young age, you are encouraged to cover you 'awra (cover your whole body, except face & hands-unless you want to cover those too by wearing Niqab/Burka). So I basically grew up viewing Hijab from the religious perspective. We wore it because it's what Allah (Subhannahu wa Ta'ala) requires of us; therefore we saw it as a requirement to wear it "properly" by covering our whole body. You know what mean? So, when I moved to the west and saw girls wearing Hijab, but showing some hair, their necks, etc. it left me quite confused.

And a little tip to choose the name of the baby : just imagine yourself being mad at your child and imagine what name sounds better to you to scream at. I know it's strange but just give it a try lol And sorry for my english I normally speak french xx
