Krocks In The Kitchen Love your videos! They are very helpful and well crafted. Would you consider doing a video for people who hate salads? I saw your salad video and have been eating them for a week and I'm having a very hard time! I changed up the dressings and hummus, but I just don't like them whatsoever. The salad is my big hindrance into going 100% into Dr. Fuhrman's plan and I won't be surprised if it's a lot of peoples hang up as well.

I am not so tall but I am formerly a 5'11" guy that started this journey at 626 lbs so I can relate to him. Right now I am about 370 and getting my health back. (lost about 80 lbs the hard way in about 2 years while studying and once all the facts became crystal clear and I filtered out all the noise and misinformation in May of 2018 I went 100% WFPB with limited SOS. and lost the rest since then) I considered doing what you guys are doing but honestly didn't love the idea of doing it but felt that there was a hole there, I was happy to find you guys and see Brian filling that void. It let me off the hook from doing something I really did not want to do lol. Anyway thought I would share you guys keep up the good work!

lol Louisville is French with a Southern drawl, if you aren't used to it Luh-vuh is much better than Looey-ville or something else. There is a third syllable in there but its very softly pronounced, something not done in English. the "is" is a very soft ah kind of sound. you pronounce the "l"s but they come out closer to an English h. Jessica was really close for a non French speaker/native. I give her an A.

Thank you so much for this informative video! I got so much out of it. I’ve got to look again at Eat to Live, because I’ve been stuck at the same weight for about 6 months after losing 30 lbs. sigh… Finally, FINALLY was able to give up oil in my cooking (that was tough!). It helps. You guys so inspire me. Thanks! ******************************* Btw, I stumbled on one of your other videos where you ate only potatoes a year after your two week potato fast. It really got me thinking. I started my whole food vegan diet ala Dr. Joel Fuhrman‘s Eat to Live book just under two years ago. My journey also started with the lowly potato. Potatoes were my “go to“ meal when I was so confused I didn’t know what to do next. I’m so moved by your tears of remembrance, because I’ve been there, too. The first 10 days of my whole food plant-based journey I had a nonstop headache (“withdrawal“, Dr. Fuhrman would likely say…). The second week I fell in love with the salad, really looking forward to every meal with the salad “as the main dish“ (as Dr. Fuhrman would say). But, I hit the skids on the third week when I realized I couldn’t possibly face another salad and really wondered whether or not I simply couldn’t become a vegan. Then I discovered a KZbin channel: Gloria Lopez’s “Revolution in bloom“ where she specializes in Cuban inspired cuisine (read: no salads) which she has veganized. My family particularly fell in love with her whole food plant-based lasagna recipe and I think I’ve made it 100 times in the last two years. Anyway, I lost 30 pounds and found myself completely transformed health wise. I would never, ever go back to eating animal products. My son spontaneously went vegan, as well, seven months ago and now he’s getting straight A’s in school and his acne completely cleared up! Incredible. Thank you for your inspiring example.

Well done on your journey. Great video. Thanks. I also started on the Dr Furhman plan and have lost 70lbs . I did plateau after 50lbs and swapped to the Mc Doughall starch solution. Now at my target weight, I combine both. I love my big salads , but also love to make starchy meals and indulge in them . The difference between both plans is that Furhman’s plan is less of a starchy plan and big on legumes and nuts , while Dr Mc Doughall is big on all starches and not on nuts and seeds. I find eating starches first meal triggers hunger for me during the dat. So I have my starchy meal as my last meal of the day. So I have green veggies for meal one. Big salad for meal 2. And medium salad and starchy meals for 3. I dont eat between meals and if ever I feel I need to, then it’s raw veggies .
@brigittemccray83305 жыл бұрын
I love both, too. I exercise A LOT though, and I've found that Furhman works better for me because of how much I exercise. I think the protein and healthy fats must help my muscles recover more than starches.

I started the potato fast on the 1st and as of the morning I'm down 20 pounds. I also stopped diet soda cold turkey. So that's mostly water weight from the salt and chemical additives, and that's scary because my mother battled congestive heart failure because she retained fluids. Remarkably I didn't get a caffeine headache or feel ill from having an electrolyte drop. I'm still not dying to eat something other than potatoes, although I'm watching more cooking shows and did a big shop to replace everything in my pantry, so I'm ready.

Multiple comments follow. - Hilarious that Jessica highlighted the questions to show which question was whose. Haha! - I concur with Brian on the pronunciation of Louisville, although have no authority whatsoever. - As for the cheeses, I recommend Miyoko’s. Her stuff is awesome. She does an amazing butter too. I don’t do oil anymore, so I don’t use it anymore... but yum! - It is super cute that Peef had his own tea! - Here’s a comment that I hope will not be taken badly, but it has occurred to me several times. What do you think about Jessica getting a different hair style? I could see something layered being super cute. ✂️ - Interesting about the starchy carbs. I was thinking ya’ll did unlimited. I bought The Starch Solution as well. I am curious to read it and hear what you think! - 🍏🍌🥬🥒🥦🌽🥕🍋🍊🍐🍅🍠🥔🥭🍇🍓🍉🍈

I am so grateful for these videos! I too am following the ETL 6 week plan and except for one ounce of nuts per day, usually in my salad dressing I just stick with the unlimited foods. Even so, I average 1 lb. per week. So even though I don’t have nearly as much weight to lose as you have, it can be very discouraging. If I deviate just a little, I gain a lb back overnight. You inspired me to make a chart like yours so I can see my progress. That has been very motivating. You address everything I’m going through so you two are my main inspiration for not giving up! Not being able to exercise is a really good point to raise. I went from close to 190 down to 160 in my 30s because of lots of walking but then I developed plantar fasciitis in BOTH feet and gained all the weight back plus a ton more with lots of yo-yoing. As I try to start more whole foods and plant based eating this month I started at 261 and I'm down to 255 without the ability to really exercise right now. I'd like to make really good progress by my 45th birthday in February 2020!

Laura Larkin I just watched all of the Krocks videos, read Dr McDougals book the starch solution and thought I’d do a 2 week potato only diet, that lasted 4 days and I switched it up to a Mary’s mini instead. Mary is Dr McDougals wife and you choose one starchy vegetable as your main source of food(50%) than the rest is non starchy vegetables, no oils. You can search on the Krocks videos and it really explains it all. I only did the Mary’s mini to kick start my weight loss and reset my tastebuds. It works. It’s a Whole Foods plant based diet.

Awesome! Amazing! Unreal! Kudos! I know that it can be done with intentionality and determination-which neither of you lack! It does sound like your doctor doesn’t know how nutrition can take care of your need for iron supplements. If you up your dark leafy greens you can improve that easily. Iron supplements (or heme iron) is dangerous. Please research this. You two are doing an incredible job but I know from personal experience with anemia (4 years with no improvements with supplements), increasing greens completely reversed it and my iron is now in the healthy range while on a no sos, plant based diet like yours. Love this nutrition approach to healthy living! You both look amazing and I totally understand Jessica’s thoughts on asking for size small! Takes time to get used to it, but you will. Question! I’ve done well on Mary’ s Mini. I chose potatoes. Sweet potatoes with a broccoli side or Yukon golds with salsa are great. Japanese sweet potatoes were like a dessert! This tasted great and I was melting. Now I ate the skins; did you? I can’t take russets without something and even spices didn’t help. Someday I’ll copy another blog where he added almond milk and whipped them not branching out until I hit the 50# goal. I’ve tried your griddler grilled hash browns-good!!!! I previously asked you to come up with the potato slice toco shell - I’m going to try that on the griddle- it’s easy to form the shell by making the slices form a flower but I gotta get those slices to fry together to form the sturdy shell... can you use your genius to help?

You two are such an inspiration. Thank you for posting your journey. I love watching all your videos. I started plant based before I found your site, but you simplify it to a point where it seems so easy. Thank you so much!

I began a vegan diet back in 2017-18 for ethical and spiritual reasons. It opened my third eye but lacked nutrition. Then through various changes got adjusted to the Whole-Ethical Lacto vegetarian diet (I have dairy in limited amounts and from ethical sources), and it's going quite well. Lost around 15 kilos from my average weight after puberty, current BMI is 19.4, and feel energized overall. Also eat raw fruits and veggies in good amount, when possible.

That's SO amazing and motivating! I'm also documenting vegan/WFPB journey on my YT channel 📸🎥🌱 but you guys give me so much HOPE! thanks for the great video!

Still on the journey I suppose for you two. I hope good health is still in your future and I wish you well. It was lovely that my youtube feed suggested your channel. Couples like you give me hope that I will have the chance to affect other people's lives. I got a new job at a grocery store and a lot of my co-workers are overweight and some obese. It would be nice to build a relationship with a bunch of them and maybe help them with their health struggles. Now onto applying to nutrition schools. Haha.

I drink oolong tea which is really great, several times in the day, gorgeous with lemon, but I do start my day with coffee, it’s my “weakness”. I do drink filtered water throughout the day. I make my own soya milk, which took several goes to get right as in illuminating the beany flavour. I’ve been vegetarian for well over 20 years but recently I have changed to vegan. I feel so much better for it, and the bonus is I’ve started losing weight, which is amazing. I’m type 2 diabetic, and have been for around 8 or 9 years. I weighed 11 stones (144 lbs), now, after 6 weeks I’ve lost 8 lbs., and that’s without even trying to diet! Bonus! My husband has just decided to join me on a plant based diet, which is just awesome. I take B12 and vitamin D and Sea algae capsules. I Love your channel, came across it by chance, and it’s so interesting. Keep doing what you’re doing.

A scoop of chili is good on top of a bed of greens and in the cold months helps salad go down even more. Also walnuts, red raspberry simply fruit jam, and a bit of nut milk or water blended makes a very good dressing when first changing those taste buds I found and is still a me favorite on a bed of baby spinich...

I enjoy your videos and am learning from both of you. Sharing with my adult children as well as my younger children. We have been able to cut more animal products from our diet and be more mindful about oils. Thanks for all you are doing.

Thanks for another great video. #QUESTION Do you find this to be more or less expensive than the SAD way of eating.
@AlexiHolford5 жыл бұрын
Marla Hansen for me, less. Especially if you have been eating a lot of processed foods on the SAD.

I would say generally less but if you are into saving money you could save a whole lot just by shopping around. The price of a pound of tofu can vary from 1.50 to over 3. just by where you buy it. In general everything is a lot less if you go to Asian/Latin markets. Red lentils are under 1. a pound at an Indian market, they are 3-4. a pound at the local grocery store chains.

Really like the long videos!! But my question wasn't answered. ☹️ I don't understand the Where's Peef part of all your videos. Where did that originate? SOS Free works great for me!! 🍲🥗🥘🍝🍴 Cool to see the original pants. Wow!! Keep up the good work. I'm with Brian. All you can eat and still lose weight. It's because all the fiber and nutrients are so filling that it's not an issue. Calorie density. HI GRANDMA! SHE SOUNDS SWEET😇💕🌱🌿
