Great tip! Arm swing is such an underrated focus.
@SkatefreshVideos4 жыл бұрын
Indeed, I'm guilty of not giving it much airtime, a sits the icing on the cake and I'm much more focussed on getting the skates doing the right thing. But using the arms correctly can bring good benefits.
@RichHayterSkater4 жыл бұрын
I'm ok on a longer stretch but because I tend to vary surfaces and stride pattern so frequently during a session, it's easy to lose arm rhythm.
@SkatefreshVideos4 жыл бұрын
@@RichHayterSkater Yes I agree. That's why I specified the speed skating as that's the discipline which can really use that rhythm (or when we urban skaters get a nice long stretch of smooth tarmac and no traffic.....) It's always useful to know and have options. Today I skated with a selfie stick and Insta360 for the first time. My swing was all over the place being only on one side. You and Bill make it look easy!

😂 Thanks! Those sticks are like a crutch, right? I’m hopeless at framing myself with them! It’s so liberating to skate without it. The things we do for an audience!😁

The 'square velodrome' that is Preston Park! 😎 (When my two sports collide! 😊)

Thanks. Was wondering where this was. Seems like a small, i.e. not very wide, track. Guess this was the norm when it was built. Looks like a good place to practice skating, especially for beginners.
@SkatefreshVideos4 жыл бұрын
@@SirPrancelot1 It is a good spot but I wouldn't recommend for beginner skaters as there are banked corners on the turns and the entire track isn't flat so a beginner who wasn't fluent at stopping down slopes would struggle there. Slopes are always the issue even if they are tiny.

Asha, tda hr q eu vou andar de patins inline o do pé direito fica torto vc pode me dar uma dica para isso nn acontecer? O que estou fazendo de errado? Beijosss
@SkatefreshVideos4 жыл бұрын
Obrigada.

I’m having a hard time keeping my skates straight as I stride. So, I ended doing the v striding
@SkatefreshVideos4 жыл бұрын
Yes that's a very common problem with most skaters so you aren't alone. Try to assess if at the moment you ar striding you are maintaining speed or need to accelerate. If you need to accelerate then V-ing is correct, but if you are wanting to maintain speed then the straight ahead set down in better, so make sure you know which you need when and why. Check out the "Improve your stride" Playlist on my channel as that has some useful exercises for fixing your V and spend some time on those exercises every time you skate to help you change the V. Good luck!

Hey can you make a video on different skate to buy in India its so confusing that which is durable or which is affordable also which brand to choose idk but I love to have that knowledge
@SkatefreshVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Good idea, but that would imply Asha going to India and researching the different brands, prices, etc. It doesn't look possible. Asha has made a guide that includes types of skates, brands, etc. and is here skatefresh.com/product/ebook/ This guide also includes videos for the first steps to learn inline skating.
