Through the redemptive power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, all things shall be restored. But until that day when this mortal shall put on immortality and I kneel before my Lord, my knee is crippled for the duration of this life, and bending it is quite the problem.

Last i recall, the dohyo in Sumo was introduced by Oda Nobunaga when he held sumo tournaments, to allow for the fights to end in a more timely manner than simply first to touch the ground

Hi coach, when you get into top mount or top half guard and the bottom guy holds you down (with double underhooks or double overhooks), how do you get out of that and posture up?

Hey Coach, QUESTION: "After watching CJI, BJJ seems to be in two distinct camps. A) Inverted Leg Lockers like Levi Leary and B) Top Wrestlers like Nicky Rod. Which do you think is the future of Jitz? Taking into account viewership and sponsorship, I think B is the best choice. What is your esteemed take mate? Ossa!

I know that a "chin" is normally a metaphor, but would a physically small chin be advantageous to a boxer because it's a smaller lever arm on the skull if punched?

I just started bjj about 3 months ago going 4x a week sometimes 3x but I get worried that because I'm quite small when I go with someone my size I don't do too bad but if the person is bigger than me they always tap me out any suggestions as to how to improve this dilemma?

I forgot to ask if you agree with icy mike that side kicks don’t work?
@RamseyDeweyАй бұрын
I never saw Mike’s video about sidekicks. But based on the pattern of his other videos, I’m going to guess that it went something like this: “You’re doing your side kick wrong. Fix it. Side kicks work, actually.”

Do you know of any instances of a trainer who disliked the person they were training deliberately teaching them a move that won't work and/or that will result in the person being injured? Or, at the least, do you suspect any example of this being so? I had a trainer who didn't like me and he once showed me a move where you kick someone in the groin with your left foot and when he therefore keels over, with your left foot still lifted (with it chambered), you hit him with a jab (with your fist held vertically). I figured, if I did this to someone, the guy would fall on me and knock me down, with him on top of me. I told another trainer whom I think disliked me that I have trouble keeping my balance upon finishing throwing a straight right punch. He responded by having me press the insides of my thighs together. Every time I did this, I wobbled and felt like I could easily be pushed to the ground.
@cartozzzTVАй бұрын
Why would you continue learning under someone who you thought disliked you? Did you ever ask the trainer directly if they actually did dislike you? If that didn't set alarm bells off maybe them teaching you a magic miyagi-do move where you throw a jab while standing on one leg might have? Regardless of if they were teaching you this with ill-intent or not, wouldn't you be seriously questioning the legitimacy of what you were learning after that anyway?
@HEAVENTWAАй бұрын
@@cartozzzTV I paid one of the trainers in advance for private lessons at his house. The other was just one of a handful of other trainers at a boxing gym, so luckily I had other guys to train me.

Some great knowledge drops here. Real martial arts KZbin content in my opinion. Don't mean to be sour, but lately there's some that I find to be very questionable. Wont name any channels. Lol, the black magic spells lol. That would be cruelty like no other if I did something like that to my younger brother that struggles with a condition thats both his strength and weakness. Lol I just can't imagine it. I just can't. That man would have an entire random bucket of dumped out Lego organized in an hour I'm sure.

Assuming a person without a lot of training can perfectly copy textbook form from youtube, of say punches and elbows, is hitting the heavybag at home a waste of time, or even detrimental?
@antonioflores425Ай бұрын
THANKYOU for the answer, I think we should makethem wear chinese wrestling jackets, remove submission/ippon/pins instant wins, and score all of the 3 with the same score example any Big major throw/ippon 5 points, any submission allowed and 5 points, 20 seconds pin(like osaikomi) 5 points, and no instant win, you win by outpointing your opponent with 15 points ahead, what do you think Sir? THANKYOU
@RamseyDeweyАй бұрын
That’s a little bit like a catch wrestling rule set: best 2 of 3 falls wins (a fall= pin or submission) Ties are broken by a sudden death round, first wrestler to get a takedown wins. Would those be the only scoring criteria in your hypothetical rule set? Or would other techniques or positions also score? And why the Chinese wrestling jacket?
@antonioflores425Ай бұрын
@@RamseyDewey You are right it sounds very similar to catch, the pin i would set it more like osaikomi in judo (20 secs) to give bjj more chance to counter pins, and even allow guard pulling, but not sitting down. The chinese wrestling jacket because Id like to give something to work with to the gi wrestlers like Bokh and judo, but not to invasive to no gi wrestlers, and that jacket is the most hybrid gi no gi techniques allower ive seen. Thank You for the answer, have a Nice day.
