I appreciate what you dudes are doing. I also really love your podcast. It is very informative. I work in a similar industry(the auto industry) for a very well known companies R&D engineering firm that builds dies(production and prototype) and does high end CNC. I eventually want to transition into the firearms industry and I know how costly real engineering is and I can see why some companies forego the prototype process entirely. I'm glad you guys aren't doing that. Keep it real bros.

@kevinbrittingham6774 I agree 100% , there's nothing worse than an engineer who designs something that just can't be machined. Those who can are gold, IMO. I don't work in the gun industry, so I have no idea how it works on your guys' end, but on the aerospace and defense side, it's way too common of an issue to find an engineer who is too book smart and has never had time behind CAM and machines before. Keep up the good work! -Steven

I think you mean lack of convenience rather than slower cause I’m not sure how this be any slower since you’re slinging it all the way out still. I think Kevin’s brain is trapped in AR world sometimes. Sure there are companies that make Mil-spec this and that for AR-15s that don’t need inside engineers (or at least think they don’t). Some AR consumers want everything for cheap and they end up getting badly made/badly designed parts. However, I am reasonably certain that Sig, Sako, Ruger, Beretta, and Benelli all employ engineers.
