Q: Do you know anything about the theory of Ace betraying the prefect?

The theory seems to come and go, really. It died down for a bit until the Broomquet birthday cards since the flower for September can symbolise betrayal, to which both Jamil and Ace are in that month. I do like the idea of him being tied to one of the time loop theories too

Not to mention his Platinum Jacket SSR. The grand betrayal is implied to be linked to the perpetrator of the Overblots, but I haven't seen anyone go into detail about it. I also don't think that Ace will betray anyone in a conventional sense, but I do think it's possible for something along those lines to happen, as a LOT of people didn't see the Pomfiore situation coming. Now that I think about it, the Cheshire Cat DID sabotage Alice in the movie... so maybe Ace won't betray anyone, but will get betrayed?

I tend to agree. Plus, I can't think of a motivation for him to want to betray Yuu and the others at this point in time. The only way I can see that is if he shatters the Dark Mirror, trapping them in that world forever.

I’m glad to know that this died a long time ago, I don’t think Ace being the traitor would work and plus it would ruin his character. Ace is a great character in his own right, which I love about him. He’s funny, occasionally smart, concern, worries, about Yuu / Us, cares about Yuu / Us, and he’s a great friend / character to have around not matter what. 😊

It's not a completely dead theory tbh, it just seems to be more of a fluid theory in which it comes and goes and each time it comes around it changes slightly since we have more details about him/the story/world by then. It makes it a very interesting theory since Ace doesn't seem to represent just a card soldier, he seems to have several inspirations mixed into him.

I do think that his unique magic might be turning back time..the downside is that he and his target wouldn't know anything..he probably sent us back in time because we couldn't stop overblot Grim at all.. there's definitely time looping involved in the story since Yuu got a vision of overblot Grim before finding him in book 5..and if it weren't Ace's unique magic then the only other choice is Crowley

My biggest question about the traitor theory is.... What is there to betray?? 😭 The theory from kamigame sounds awesome though but if his UM is about turning back time does that make him a super powerful mage even surpassing Malleus...? I really can't wait to see the last of Heartslabyul dream chapter 🥺

this is exactly what i was thinking. like, this story has very little going on to have anyone "betray" something. closest thing is crowley behind the overblots/bringing yuu into the world and is just acting ignorant about it all.

No I keep asking myself that question too, like there’s no evil scheme that requires a mastermind behind for him to even fill that slot. Even grim looks more suspicious in comparison considering he’s the thing the game has been leading up to this entire time with blot crystals and the beginning fight. Even if it was him bringing us/yuu to twisted wonderland he doesn’t even have the capability to do that so i really don’t get what he could possibly do to be this big traitor 😭😭

@@Cinn-yt It's a very old theory, it doesn't really hold much water like it used to. It's a theory that started back when the game first began, when fans were just looking into the meaning of names and all that

Guys, please don't take this theory too seriously anymore lmao it started back in 2020, when the game first released in Japan, it doesn't hold the water it used to. People just like to have fun bringing it up now and then (which in most cases are Ace's top fans lol) I can promise you, nobody thinks of it like we used to
