He does actually have a line similar to that! If you level up one of his things (level, vignette, or magic, I don't remember which one exactly), he'll say something along the lines of "I never thought I'd be into your type, but maybe I was wrong...? Or not"

Ace's arc goes something like this: He's a big arrogant jerk to us because we are lame and have no magic. Next, thanks to Riddle, Ace LOSES said magic! After working to improve himself set to Riddle RIDICULOUS standards, he hears Riddle spout the same insult about us being dumb a magicless. Ace (never actually apologizes to us, but...) punches Riddle. Ace points out one's Riddle's the one with a lot to learn, and stays to fight the overblot. From there, he's more of a friend. Is he low-key hitting on the prefect at some point? Calling it a joke out of fear of rejection? Meh, up to you.

It's really, REALLY interesting to see Ace among the first year gang to be far more open to us. Yeah we're close to he and Deuce, but Ace makes the effort to be looking out for us. Interested to see where this plays in effect in Book7 👀

Toxic relationship lol he was in middle school (so like 14/15 at most) and they just didn't like the same things so he stopped talking to her :')

@@vic9344 they *both* weren’t good for each other, she forced him to do stuff that he didn’t enjoy and he ended the relationship in a really reckless way the entire problem was that they had nothing in common

rivals/enemies to best friends to BFF's to maybe lovers is what I'm getting from Ace. Ace always want to look and be cool rather then just truly being himself not really wanting to admit things that you should obviously admit to like your true feelings and we get bits and piece of him breaking the cool guy act every now and then to people he fully trust and he trust Grim, Deuce, and Yuu completely. He still teases them but once he sees it hurts they're feelings he stops which is sweet and even scolds Yuu from time to time if Yuu ever does something not mentally sound like the "jumping of a cliff with someone if they did" metaphor only Yuu did it twice with Malleus and Lilia to the spectral realm and in Book 6 with Epel and Rook to save the blot gang and Grim.
