Had the pleasure of being (comped) upgraded from Doha to Melbourne in first a few months back. I think as a Qantas plat I won the upgrade lottery. Very comfortable seat and loved the food. Also the Krug and being served it at the bar was great fun. Greet review as always !

Hi there Paul, i really enjoy watching your vids, im a fellow Aussie n live in Sydney, ive only ever been on a plane once in my life some 10 years ago now, n was only to Brisbane and back a few days later, certainly wasn’t anything like the luxury your very lucky to have experienced. Mine from memory, was a zero luxury benefits (although i did have a window seat, yay me livin it up with my window seat lol😅) Jetstar Economy. Being my first flight it was kinda exciting though, im somewhat of a plane enthusiasts, and have a pretty cool Flight radar app on my phone n always looking out the window to especially when i see a A380 on its way over, pretty awesome app n really accurate. Sorry for raving on so much, I really just wanted to ask, my favourite plane is the Qantas A380 im just amazed at the shear size of them, and really would love to one day get an opportunity to go on one, First class with a bit of luck😁, i was wondering whats your most favourite plane and experience you’ve had so far? The food looked astonishing. During the latest BA crew strike, they used QATAR to service flights and a lot of BA passengers got to see, irrelevant of class, for the first time what a really good airline is like.

I haven`t seen that wine for years on a plane. Now that is really a gem. Your dessert would have been upgraded with that "Poetry in a bottle".. Thank you

Hello Paul, Always a pleasure to follow your reviews. I also always enjoy my Qatar Airlines flights, and as I was saying to Dennis, You should post you planning trip before hand so we could have some get together events each time you have a stop over with your followers. Imagine getting together in the French Cafe in Doha airport for a drink with other regular flyers, this could really be great. Safe travel :) I have a 9 hours stop over in Doha on the 23rd this month, and you can only spend so much time in the pool :D

They're probably worth trying but otherwise EK is probably superior. :) Just remember that Qatar doesn't allow One World Status pax into their good lounges so that's a big negative mark against them!

Very good review! However I don't like the fact that the business class Qsuite can be fully enclosed while the first class cannot... a bit intimidating to me. Overall Qatar has an excellent first class product and a nice looking #amenitykit

Not sure if I can contribute to the 'how you should eat caviar' conversations, but if you can wangle a bottle of Krug 2004 into your giveaways, I'll be in there every time 😀 I like the humour about 'paediatricians ' and 'gingers' as well 😂 You may not remember, but I commented on one of your videos a few weeks ago about the Air NZ business cabin - well, I did a regional return flight on CX in business and it was much better (as well as having the bonus of lounge access at HGK). On another tangent, it appears that Cathay are configuring some of their regional aircraft as three class with no F. Do you think that that this is likely to become more widespread? Oh, and why not - #amenitykit

Hi Peter, haha no Krug give aways in the near future. haha Agreed that the CX J product is better. CX used to have the herringbone layout like NZ's current one but they've now replaced most if with the superior reverse herringbone. Yep all of the 777s that fly to Australia don't have First Class. I expect they'll phase it out on most routes other than the major ones (ie LHR and JFK).

Hi Paul, I was excited to see this one as I'm travelling with Qatar in August although sadly not in first. I've booked economy Edi - Doha and then on to Bangkok. Last time I did this journey with Qatar they offered to upgrade the 2nd leg of the trip to business at a cost of just over £300 and I declined. If it's offered in August I'm in. Thanks for a other educating and entertaining vlog. #amenitykit

Paul Stewart Hi Paul, I just checked the email they sent me re. the upgrade. It was £374, limited to one upgrade invite pp. It was for the second leg only and does not include lounge access / limo etc. In retrospect still a very good offer and one I will hopefully be offered again.
