Doha International Airport is a modern, spacious, well-designed and luxurious airport and overall among the best in the world... however it is not THE best. That title belongs to Singapore Changi by a huge margin.

Was a great airport but the coaching to plane let it down when people pushing past my kids to get on bus that half empty for first class passages only was not very well done at all. Apart from that the airport and flying with Qatar was very enjoyable with two young children.

Did you genuinely earn the top spot, or did you buy your way into 1st place with Scamtrax? Our experience was awful. The airport was overcrowded and disorganized, with confusing signs. The whole place was incredibly boring. Our flight was delayed, and the staff communication was poor and unfriendly. The new area was also disappointing; it felt like a poor imitation of Changi Jewel, with scattered plants and a water feature you call a waterfall. There are many airports far better than HIA. I would avoid it if I have to transit in the Middle East again.

I'll stick to Singapore's Changi Airport, voted the best in the world at least seven times, thanks. Not just because it's brilliant - particularly now its got the amazing "Jewel" next door, but because the entire country of Singapore is just as wonderful to enjoy as the airport, whereas much of Qatar is, well...a bit of a dump!
