This is a very interesting video on these QB8's Shot Shells. I was in Law Enforcement back in the 90's and had to use a Revolver in the Police Academy. Then immediately went to a Glock .40 Caliber. I had 2 Ruger Mini 14's that I and another officer used for Drug Entry alot of time. And we had several 12 ga. shoguns also.

I’m sure it would be pretty easy to make your own variations of these shells. Some bar stock and a band saw would probably work just fine. I’d like to see the same setup but instead of 8 individual pieces, using just 4 pie cut sections cut twice as long. Using different materials like lead or stainless steel would be interesting. Thanks for the videos!

The design is not all that complicated. Harden steel cylinder in 4 parts, set of two of those. We know how fast they are suppose to be flying as well. Someone who wants a project could re-make these rounds.
@jakeblanton68533 жыл бұрын
Agreed... Pretty easy to create in non-hardened steel with just a steel rod of the appropriate diameter and a band saw... They are not a "quadrangle" shape though... More of a "cylindrical quadrant"... I suspect that non-hardened steel would work just as well for most uses of the projectile... Hell, I've had 7.6x51 mild steel jacketed rounds out of an M1A put enough of a ding in an AR500 plate that I quit shooting that round at the plates after just a single round...

Oh wow! I was thinking about shapes like this already and wondering why no one made them. I was wrong. Of course what I was thinking about was more like plated high-antimony lead alloy wedges. That was you get more weight, but it doesn't deform as much as a softer lead would.
