This was excellent. Great job finding out where it bottlenecks and just how well it can be made to preform.

Extremely informative video, thank you for your efforts it has definitely help me making my decision. For references do you think the QM2-2S10G1TA has better speeds than the QM2-2P10G1TA.

Awesome video dude, thanks. I came looking coz I have the TS-464, same hardware but 4 bays, same QM2-2P10G1TB expansion card, but I'm using a used Intel X540-T2 10Gbe NIC in the PC and I'm only seeing speeds of 180Mbps, that's whether I go through be 10Gbe switch or directly connected, and I've made sure I'm transferring on the 10Gbe IP Address. I've posted on the QNAP forum and someone there told be it's the limitation of the Intel Celeron (N5105) CPU and 10Gbe wouldn't be possible, which I thought was nonsense, otherwise why would QNAP have put in a PCIe slot, and you've just proven it's possible to achieve up to 1Gbps transfer speed with 700-900Mbps realistic. Very interesting test regarding the Cache though, I'm glad you did that, and once I figure out the 10Gbe issue I think I'll setup my cache like that, so it's spread over the 2 controllers.

Hi, Thanks for watching. Glad you found it useful and appreciate your kind comment. It took some time to do this but was worth the effort since I couldn't find any definitive information about this product and bandwidth limitations. Overall I am happy with the setup though I will say sometimes the speed hovers around 500MB/s and even slows down below that a bit but I am wandering if this has something to do with how the cache is managed and also maybe the SSD cache itself and this is mostly over large sustained transfers. Will be great to know how you do with your setup also keen to know how the intel card performs, let us know if you get time. All the best, TK :).

Hey I was wondering if I were to unplug my 1tb external storage and change it to a 2tb storage would it get rid of all the data on my games or will it still be there(Ps5)

Hi, Thanks for watching and sorry for the delayed response. To the best of my knowledge if you safely remove and detach the drive without format it should retain your data. Hope that helps, all the best, TK :).

As of today, 8 port 10G SFP+ switch is just $100 and $20 on ebay for a used dual-ports 40Gbps Mellanox card(can be used as 10Gbps by DAC Splitter cable, which is about $25). There is no reason to try all those expensive $200+ single card NO switch approach. It is actually not a budget friendly as of today.
