This is the ultimate Ronstadt song performance. First, she draws you in with that achingly pure, pristine beauty in her voice that makes you fall in love instantly. Then, she unleashes the power that knocks you flat. Nobody does it better.

I saw Linda in concert many years ago in a small theater in Boston. It remains the very best concert I have ever been to. She could sing any and everything. Great reaction!

You have just heard the voice of an angel! The most beautiful female voice on the planet. In my opinion, there’s not another female artist who can come close to this woman. She stretches to the very limit and makes it look easy. Amazing control and the perfect combination of power and sweetness. I enjoyed your input 🎄🎁🎄

Finally! A reactor who reacted to this beautiful rendition of Tracy's song! Thank you. This is one of my favorite English speaking songs from Linda. If you dont know, Linda sung in several genres, along with opera and in Spanish! She is a super star legend. God bless this amazing woman. She was my first female singer way back when that threw me for a loop with her singing.....

My opinion of this rendition by Linda Ronstadt needs no validation but I'm glad you appreciated it as well. She really steps out of herself and becomes someone else. This was 1976 live in Offenbach, Germany if I'm not mistaken. ❤️Linda Ronstadt.❤️

Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre whether ballads, country, blues, rock & even opera. She has had so many hits such as "Blue Bayou", "You're No Good", "Long Long Time", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. Ronstadt also did two great duets, "Somewhere Out There" (with James Ingram) & "Don't Know Much" (with Aaron Neville). The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs.

Actually, she kind of put the Eagles together and then said "have at it guys." She wanted them to succeed on their own and never wanted any credit, even though it all belonged to her. A great and humble person.

Such a talented singer who excelled in many genres. Her duets with Aaron Neville are something to behold, “Don’t Know Much” may be my favorite. When searching for Linda always go for live performances, just amazing

Linda is the artist that made it possible for all female artists. She was the first female arena performer. She had a streak of four Platinum albums in a row and has 13 ? Platinum albums. Her records of Gold through Multi Platinum albums is unheard of. She also sang every genre. This song though is the take you to church song. It’s amazing.

Awww. Beautiful voice of my youth. She was a staple (along with her band The Stone Poneys) in the L.A Folk Rock scene mid to late sixties..fun fact ( not related to her music) ..my boyfriend at the time lived next door to her in Venice ..I was jealous 😂.

It sounds like Linda is new to you. She had an absolutely AMAZING career before MS stole her voice. She sang folk, pop, country and standards from the forties and fifties. Please react to her singing Blue Bayou, it really shows her range and power. Fun fact, she enticed four musicians, each from other bands, to work with her. In time they went out on their own as The Eagles.

It is a shame that Linda's illness has taken her voice. She is still so positive about life. I was diagnosed with the same progressive disease and hope to remain as positive while my symptoms worsen.

Since Qofy mentioned that Tracy Nelson wrote this song, I thought I'd provide a link to a live version she did on a TV show "Lonesome Pine Special" back in 1987. The song was actually written and released back in 1975, when she fronted a San Francisco-based band called Mother Earth.. And Tracy still performs it now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipnLgJitnr-Kq5o

Of course this is beyond beautiful but I actually think her studio recording may be better, she's backed by a choir that takes it to another level. My boyfriend introduced me to this song of her album Hasten Down the Wind waaay back in 1980 and when I heard it my jaw dropped I had never heard anyone sing with so much passion

Linda could sing anything; I have read she performed in classical opera years ago. Back in the day I bought the album "Hasten Down the Wind (1976) and loved it, and played it dozens of times: "Lose Again", "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me", Willie Nelson's "Crazy", "Hasten Down the Wind" with Don Henley on backing vocal... And amazingly, I thought "Down So Low" was too much, too heavy, overly dramatic, such that I appreciated it, but did not love it. Silly me; I got over that.
