You can NEVER have enough QuadFilters. And this one comes even with a scanner! :)
@DivKid Жыл бұрын
Is that because there's not that many quad filters around? :) The scanner is a fantastic bonus.

What an incredible set of modules, I want them all. I just went ahead and ordered this as the possibilities are endless. I love it when a company takes an existing idea and makes it that much better, the scanner sold me. Thanks again Ben!

@@DivKid Are all the new Vostok modules good like this one? Which of them are must haves? I have the old wavetable oscillator and like it a lot!
@DivKid3 ай бұрын
Hello, Vostok haven't made a wavetable oscillator so you might be thinking of another brand. But yes Vostok Instruments modules are great. We made a module together called Trace and here's the 4 modules they launched with - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHmwe2Cer9GmiM0si=7MwXplWeHRBpvPac

I would use it with morph4 to make the scanning capabilities vastly more insane?and of course a bejolin through Ana into the scanned filter bank is a treasure and intermixed with qpas you could give twin peaks a new height to aspire to

Can you atep aequence the scan input to create hard shifts in the scan ???
@DivKid4 ай бұрын
it just responds to a voltage, so if you use a sequencer to control it with discrete voltage changes then yes. Same for Trace (my new module with Vostok).
@n0tett Жыл бұрын
Great sounding quad filter. Opinions on how this compares to QPAS outside of differences between the two modules like seperate cutoffs, mono out...etc? Furthermore, whether or not you feel the Bastl Ikarie is basically just a DPAS with better hardware? Thanks for continuing to inspire.

Technically would the morphing filter scanner example be possible with a multimode filter and the divkid trace? Cheers
@DivKid5 күн бұрын
Trace is an expanded version of this, with a (better, more flexible) morphing curve and the option to input any 4 signals. To mimic this entirely you'd need 4 filters, but it could be any 4 filters. If it's just morphing between filter modes then a multimode filter with separate filter type outputs would work great with Trace.
@AntonKuznetsovMusic5 күн бұрын
@ that’s amazing! Thanks for your reply. So is a morphing filter such as this one (or let’s say Blades) in essence a multimode filter with a crossfader? I’m asking because I’m terms of VCOs I know there’s a difference between a morphing wave oscillator and cross fading between wave types. So was just wondering how is that with filters.

Don´t get me wrong, it´s always a good idea to buy more than one module from a brand you like, cause you can be sure they pair up together very well... I have a few Rossum modules, but I sold the Mob of EMUS - this was nothing for me - to many double functions, I won´t buy a Satellite - but I wish I have a another Control Forge. I wish, I have the money to buy a Trident, Morpheus and - a must have - Evolution.... If you ask me, all this modules are really cheap - the build quality is amazing - You have to Know, who is behind this project... If you know, you will realize - this is a "joke" as well - why should I buy a 35th anniversary version extremely limited number of renovated “better-than-new” SP-1200s! Ok, the form factor - you think, if I buy this - I can make music, like in the old days, lol - I would buy a Isla instead... As always, many thx to DivKid for creating such a great video about the Vostok modules .... Again, I learned a lot!!

depends on the comparisons you want to make but Vostok Modules are more affordable, more so when you consider you're getting multiple channels of their functions in not that much more space (HP/width)
