Sorry to be so ignorant., When I click on the "Firmware Update Guide" that you have provided, I get a list of Manuals and a few Softwares. (PDF/Zip etc. So which software do I click of to give me the right download?

William Trap no worries. So when you follow that link on the right side there should be a link for the DJI Assistant 2. Download the .dmg file if your on a Mac or the .zip or .exe for a Windows PC. Hope that helps!

I prefer the tablet/phone update. DJI Ass. 2 is just confusing. I also tried the IMU calibration on Ass. 2, but found it impossible

gm6112 ah interesting. Did you have a specific issue as to why you wanted to calibrate the IMU? Best practice is to leave the IMU be as it is calibrated at the factory.

Excellent tutorial. There is one other method to update or refresh the firmware. When you are on the DJI screen in the app you can hold down the three bars in the upper right part of the screen for 5 seconds then release. In the screen that appears you can select which firmware version you want or refresh. It updates both the drone and the controller. It is by far my favorite method.

A very good tutorial. Basically the same process that I use on my Mavic Pro 1. I tend to use the DJI Assistant 2 software on my computer since this is faster for me and I it to be more reliable. Thank you for sharing.

Yes the process is similar to the MP, however you need the new Mavic 2 version of the Assistant 2... doesn’t make too much sense, but if people try and it doesn’t show the drone, that’s why. The correct one is linked in the description of the video, for those needing the Mavic 2 Version for firmware Upgrades.

I know this is an older video but I received my M2P today (Nov 30, 2019) and updated the drone and remote via DJI Assistant 2 and I had no issues whatsoever. Now I will say during the drone update (using Windows) it must temporarily go through some on/off sequences as my computer flashed up 2-3 times acting as if I just had plugged it in. Just be patient and let it keep updating and it’ll work out in the end.

Why does it say Inspire 2 underneath the computer diagram that's on the screen where it shows how to plug in the USB? Shouldn't it be saying Mavic Pro Platinum? That's what I'm trying to update the firmware for. Is it just saying Inspire 2 as an example? Thanks

Well, underneath mine it says Inspire 2, but on your screen underneath, it doesn't show anything. I hope I installed the right firmware oh, it's a complete so I'm hoping it if it wasn't the right one it wouldn't load it. Lol

Very nice and simple tutorial. I have question regarding two versions of the DJI GO 4 APP I see on your screen. Is it possible on IOS or is it on an android smartphone?

Hi David. Nice catch on the two apps :). One was a beta version, I should have erased it since I don’t use it anymore. It is an iOS phone, but in normal circumstances it’s only possible to have one version of the DJI Go 4 App to be installed. Of course there is another DJI Go App but that’s for older phantoms and Osmos. Hope that helps!

Very informative.If you update your drone, and there is more than one update, do you have to to start @ the lower update, and work up, or can one go directly to latest update???

gm6112 hey there! You can pick the latest. I would assume that if they was the case you would get a pop up or wouldn’t be allowed to pick the latest. Which drone are you updating?

@@Quadcopterguide Thank you, it is a Mavic 2 Zoom. Find it better to update from tablet than DJI Assistant 2. It was just confusing, there where 3 updates showing on Ass 2, and I know earlier DJI Quads one had to do updates from the oldest to latest, one by one

That’s right, when you update using the app it goes straight to the highest. Be sure to insert all batteries as the batteries might get an update as well.

Hello, just bought a Mavic Pro2 1 week ago and cant update the Firmware on the RC. I have spent a lot of time on the internet looking for solutions. I wanted to try the DJI Assistant v 1.07 method but cant find a link for that version. Its Saturday so I cant contact DJI support. If I cant get this working by next week I'll have to return it as its a big investment. The DJI GO4 app always gives me a network connection failed error message. The DJI Assistant 2 simply does not recognize the RC so the initial home screen page does not change. So Im at a loss. Also I get a Yellow triangle CDC Serial under Other Devices in Device Manager. Any clues that could help?

The DJI Assistant 2 Version for the Mavic 2 Pro is linked in the video description above. Ensure you remove the micro usb cable from the left side of the remote and plug in a normal USB cable. The micro USB end into the remote and then normal USB-A end into the PC or Mac. The Assistant should then recognize it. Are you on a Mac or Pc? Perhaps try a different computer. Sometimes that helps.

Hi Kenozaguy. Thanks for your comment. Yes if the update requires it each battery has to be inserted into the drone and fired up to ensure they are up to date. You should receive an inconsistent firmware warning if you power up the drone with the un-updated battery. Hope that helps!

I tried to download and Norton tells me within the exe is a virus....so I am not sure what to do, as you may know the firmware update and the DJI Go App don't play well with Android phones (no I am not buying an iphone...LOL) any ideas how I can use the web update?

No worries Daniel. Yea so some updates require you to update the firmware on the batteries themselves. If this is the case when you pop in an "old firmwared" battery into an updated Mavic 2, you may get an inconsistant firmware warning. Just hit update and the battery will update. If you don't get the warning and there is no update to install using the normal update method (with the "non-updated battery") inserted, then you are good to go. Hope that helps!

ArcadianCY hey there. Thanks for writing. Have you tried updating to just the one step higher firmware first before going to latest? If that doesn’t work try to reinstall the current version. Hope that helps!

Unfortunately as of June 1st, 2020, the app wont download firmware over wifi. It fails every time. I know it's not my wifi because I can stream 4k hdr video at 100 mbps. It only seems to work when using data from your phone. Even though it warns you to use wifi. The dji assistant 2 for pc is even worse because it cant even connect to the server do get the firmware list. When my Mavic 2 pro is connected it just says network error and when the controller is connected it says cannot retrieve firmware list. I dont know if this is because dji are apple fanboys and dont support android or windows much, or what. Dont care for apple myself. Never owned an apple product. Too expensive when you can get a device that does the same thing for cheaper from another company and is supported longer.

Sometimes DJI servers are really slow when a new update comes out, but you should be able to snag it at least if not slowly.
