Hello! I have a special son and I’ve been offered a handicap decal. My son can walk but I still use a special modified stroller/chair for any distance walking. After watching your video and seeing how much more difficult it is for you with a true wheelchair I’ve decided NOT to accept the decal. People like you need it much more than us! Thank you for opening my eyes!! I can load the stroller easily through the back of my SUV. Omgosh I 💕ChikFilA sauce, lol.

Hey Zack.....Just an idea re: parking ( When all the disabled slots are full and u have no choice but to park regular) Purchase your self a couple of "Witches Hats/Road Cones" To keep the area free around u r car for access.......People will see the cones and avoid parking right next to you! allowing you peace of mind to go into the store and not worry about being " Blocked In " and frustrated on your return.

When no handicap spots are available I park diagonally across two spots so that there is space for the ramp to unfold. I have a sign on the window explaining that I need 8ft clearance for a wheelchair ramp so people don't key my van. Also, at costco the tire guys let me park in front of one of their bays if they're not in use :)

I hate to be the Debbie downer but I’m always in those spaces and do not have a ramp. I have to unload my chair and put it together myself and need that space. So it not always just useful to people with ramps.

oh Zack lol- im sure there are a lot of things you haven't thought about yet- we live in our own little bubble of life typically. The best thing you can do is ask! then learn! This is the best way of never jumping to conclusions. HOWEVER I SEE you did not reply to my comment about not letting people to touch your service dog. Did I not inform you? I hope I made you think about what that does to other people where their service dogs perform different services.

john perpah ~ I also allow people to touch my service dog with permission. It’s simply a unique choice of the person and their service dog. My SD is for seizure alert and notification. As long as his attention is still on me, we are stationary or in a line, I personally have no problem with it.... when I invite the interaction. As SD handlers it’s our responsibility to educate the public on our specific SD’s duties and whether or not interaction is allowed. We can not and should not expect the general public to know SD protocols. The badges that my SD dog wears on his vest clearly state that he is not to be interacted with unless invited to do so. Zack will interact and engage with Sedona the way he sees fit and proper to his needs. His life is as unique as yours and mine are. 🐾

Yeah I find that frustrating when you couldn't find the correct parking spot I'm also handicapped and I know what it's like to go in and find not one empty spot I hate to say it but some of these people don't belong in those handicap spots there's at least a few that should not even be there. If you like Hockey my Nephew loved sled hockey because he’s got limited use of his body, he’s also a fan of wheelchair basketball then he plays soccer and runs with a walking frame to strengthen what use of his body he has. Don't get me started on Handicap Parking spaces. Van Accessible is the most useless signage ever. Reserved for Van might be more helpful, but it's too restrictive as there are folks with oxygen tanks, walkers, scooters, wheelchairs, crutches, ramps and lifts that need the use of the striped spaces next to too darn few H spots and they drive a wide variety of vehicles, even motorcycles. Why oh why isn't every single stripped space planned so it can be shared by TWO HANDICAPPED SPOTS?? If I were in charge of handing out H placards to the handicapped drivers in this country, I'd make sure each one knew the striped spots are A)not parking spots and B) not to be PARKED ON and C) that the holder of said placard was capable of backing into either space to make best use of the stripes for his/her needs without parking on them! Check out Handicrap Parking on facebook to see some of the most obnoxious misuses of the striped sections I encounter. Did you notice the vanity plate on the Audi Q7 at 4:19??? What are the odds? Zack, one more thing - please don't encourage people to pet a SERVICE DOG IN VEST - you make life hell for the rest of us with service dogs who want to follow the rules of the organizations that provide those incredible creatures and end up spending too much errand time educating the populus about how NOT to interact with our dogs. OK rolling off my wheelchair accessible soap box ;) Kudos to you and your awesome MOM for making these videos.

Hey man, love the videos!! Question for you - what power adder are you using? I’m a C5/6 incomplete and can push my car fairly easy, but sometimes on longer outings, my shoulders start to hurt and it makes me constantly think of longevity. I like pushing my own chair, but I feel like my shoulders can only last soo long lol
