Hey guys! Quick one: is there a performance difference between this and the two S&S Tapered Cone Slip-Ons? You talk about the different types of exhaust systems creating different performance effects (longer, shorter effecting torque higher/lower revs) and was wondering the same with this. In short - is this suitable for a regular road going used 650?

I'm amused, would sound much cleaner rolling down the highway, haha ! But what really caught my eye was the decision from the bikes' own running K&N external filters 🤣 ❗ I ran those type on my first bike, RD250G a real concern in raining weather inspite of anyone's opinion.....

Great stuff! Got a question: Particularly with the 865 kit and getting up to 60-65rwhp, what about brake upgrades? Sintered pads? Dual front discs? Would love to see a video on this. Thanks again!
@sepg5084 Жыл бұрын
They build these mainly for drag racing, which does not require brake upgrades. Stock brakes are already strong enough to lock up the wheels, and brake upgrades are usually done to minimize brake fade from repeated heavy braking like on circuit tracks.

Yo, so I've got this Interceptor 650 2024, right? It's only done 1500km, but I put an AEW exhaust on it. Now, here's the thing, one of the exhausts is way louder than the other. And get this, when I give it some gas, I hear this weird blast-like sound. I tried switching the exhausts from left to right, even swapped the spark plugs, but the problem's still there. The right cylinder's exhaust is just plain louder. Any clue what the heck is going on?

I have a question regarding the big bore kits. Do they increase the vibrations from the engine. I am aware of the balance counter shaft but wonder if this is affected by the bigger bores? Thanks so much .
@RevelryCycles3 жыл бұрын
There is no substantive difference in the vibration levels. We've buit heaps of these engines and have never had a customer mention vibration it as a concern.

Why don't we hear that the Enfield 650 Twin, SOHC, 270 Degree Firing Order, 4 valves per cylinder would benefit from some type of "scavenging" X-Pipe like a similar "British-THAI" Twin (albeit water cooled)? How are X-Pipes ranked vs. Straight Headers with or without a balance pipe, Vs. 2 into 1 systems on these type of engines?
@wfdTamar3 жыл бұрын
I can see that was fun, but I’d rather hear one bike (and outside to minimise reverb).

Question: What slip-on or exhaust system results in the most horsepower gains at the top end for the RE 650's? Please, no opinions or " seat-of- the pants " results -- just scientific proof. Thank you
@kernal90933 жыл бұрын
Not really, slip on exhausts are mainly for sound changes, there is a small increase in throttle response and when the torque of the bike begins while riding but it will not get significant gains. I use a emgo slip on exhaust on my RE continental and it makes it sound great but thats about it.

Curious if you have to remove or loosen the exhaust now to change the oil filter on these twins with the S&S exhaust?

Yes, but it is so close that you can usually just remove the rear mount bolt and gently flex the pipe enough to get the filter out/in.

Revelry Cycles Cool. Thank you for clarifying. I wondered what the larger diameter tube was. You guys are doing great work with these engines. I’m in the UK and not in the market for a new bike right now (over half a dozen restorations and special builds to finance) but if I was, I would probably be putting together a café racer based on an engine will all your road mods. Have you done any carb conversions? If so, which ones do you use? There’s a company down your way doing some very nice flat slide Mikunis. They might not be as authentic as Concentrics, but more reliable and very interesting. As you may have guessed, I’m not a fan of EFI on basic bikes, especially retros.
