This brought back great memories. I was in high school during this era and it was great motivation that brought on endless dreams of becoming a pro some day. I never made it to that level but I have managed to continue training 4 to 5 days a week for the last 35 years. Thank you for the video. It is probably my favorite to date.

Yeah, wasn’t it a magical time? No internet, just magazines. Reading every single word in them multiple times to gain more knowledge. Pumping Iron (or any film footage of a bodybuilder) was nowhere to be found. Being the only guy in the classroom who trained at all and being looked at as a weirdo for it, while everybody was smoking two packs a day and eating whatever. And every workout was a special happening. I would so do it all again if I could go back in time.

You're pushing it with the "real muscles" thing. They used steroids and hard work with good nutrition. They looked great, today they use those same steroids, in much higher doses, but they added insulin, hgh,oil injections etc ,and they look ridiculous.It wasn't more drugs and hard work, it was as little drugs to get it done, plus hard work.
