I literally do it for free for friends based on what i've learned online and doing it on my own cars since 16(first few times were a bitch). I make a list for them and assuming they buy everything I don't even charge because I like doing it so much. I have already installed simple headunit/amp/sub systems in 3 coworkers cars lol. The first one was painful as he bought a $20 cca "4 gauge" kit from amazon. Geez man. high end installer. You are a topnotch installer. Cheers to you. You secured the whole system properly and neatly. It's not just making it work, it's the small details that you put in it that is really really hard to do. I’m appreciated for your efforts to make this video. I have exactly the sample car, the similar system with the Factory Radio, T wiring harness, 1 AudioControl lc7i audio line output converter, 1 amplifier 4 Channels, a component speaker JBL Gto 609C for the front, a co-axial speaker Infinity Kappa 693.11 for the rear side speakers and a Subwoofer Rockford P300-12 with build-in amplifier. I did all my own works and this was the first time I tried to install a full car audio system by myself. For the first few seconds I saw this video, I thought was popped out of my mind: Darn it!! I wish I had this video sooner, it would save me a ton of time to research everything (tools, parts, harness, materials, the way to disassemble panel,...). I’m in the middle of installing process now. I learnt some things new from your video: - I gonna need to double check my T-wiring harness, for sure I need to change some wires as you did. - I also learnt how to build a amp crack like a professional. - I gonna need to double check the output voltage for each channel. There is one more thing I still concern about my system. The front speaker I have is JBL Gto 609c which runs at 4 Ohms and the rear speaker is Kappa 693.11 runs at 2 Ohms. I didn’t notice the different Ohms when I bought these speakers. Is that safe for the amplifier if I run 2 speakers system which are different in Ohms? My amplifier is MTX Thunder 75.4 (75W RMS per channels, can handle from 2-6 Ohms speakers).
@bbfoto72485 жыл бұрын
+Kiet Pham Your MTX amplifier will be perfectly fine running your 2-Ohm Kappa's and 4-Ohm JBL speakers. No problem. You will need to adjust the amplifier "gain adjustment" lower for the Rear channels (usually channels 3 & 4 on the amplifier).

I love the crimp and solder combo! All this and I will pick on 1 minor detail, some bootlaces on the distribution block would have been nice. I relate to this install, I went all out like this for my minor system, just simple things like using di-electric grease on outside connections, stainless steel bolts and mounting the fuse and having tidy cable work. It can take double the time but is for sure worth it and you will guaranteed to never have any short circuits.

Fascinating. I recently had a full audio system installed. It was a little more involved than this, and this was a lot. I had 2 sets of Focal components running active crossover setup, utilizing 2 amplifiers, one for the tweets and one for the midrange drivers. A JL Audio 75/4 and a JL Audio 75/2 respectively. Active setup is a huge difference in sound. A 500/1 JL mono lock amp for 2 JL 12’s, 2 gauge wire from the battery, and 4 gauge into the bigger amps, a Rockford Fosgate DSP/interface, and Dynamat where it was needed. And window tint. I already owned all the equipment except for the DSP and the 2 channel amp, and the cost for parts and labor was still around $3,800. Now I can see why labor rates for this kind of work are what they are. This guy is a master installer.

I'm guessing I wouldn't really be able to afford it to have a shop do it you know
@andykalnins98467 ай бұрын
@@michaelmarquez6133 I definitely hear that. The labor to install everything can be as much as all the parts to the system. It's different if the system is 100% aftermarket but it gets tricky when integrating with an Infotainment type system which comes with modern cars. My 75x4 amp was going so I got an 8 channel JL VXI amp instead, and had the Focal 3.5" installed as well. Look that amp up, it's a lot of technology in one amp.

ALL THAT WORK AND USING UNDERSIZED(6awg) CCA 4 GAUGE WIRE ): I know its sufficient for lower amperage setups but it degrades so much over time and can become a fire hazard. The stuff oxidizes and crumbles like crazy!! Ask me how I know :/ spent 4 hours installing some into my car when I hadn't watched pros like you guys and next thing I know my wire ends are all dusty and flaking off leading to amp turning off at times. The connection to battery/fuse was done with ring terminals and crimped with hydraulic crimper.. no lose connection excuse. Good job man, you can install my stuff anytime! I do my own installs naturally, but you do it like I do, crimp then solder then heat shrink, there is no better way when quality matters. Just one thing I do that you might consider, I tin the ends of my power cables and I use silver bearing solder for everything. It's a little more expensive but it will eliminate any chance of corrosion and it conducts better than gold. Plus, a tinned end gives the clamps something hard and solid to bite down on rather than just soft stranded wire. I enjoyed this video, good stuff man! Cheers 🍻

That thin wire is nothing, dont worry, i changed the stock radio for a pioneer, i also had the same metra kit you had and there was zero problem, also the SWC is in a separete plug, it has the 3.5 rca wires and 3 wires for the swc

Lorenzo, you're killin me with that CCA wire and 60a fuse. Music may be dynamic but you're still going to draw more than 60a unless the only thing you listen to is talk radio :/

He should have ran 0 gauge wire from the front to the back and then ran 4 gauge wire to the two amplifiers from the distribution block and ran 4 gauge grounds for both amplifiers and made sure the wire was OFC instead of CCA. Besides that it is a nice install.
