Im Viet, i can confirm for yall. He uses the word "em". The word "em" translated just means someone younger than you. But in a relationship it could mean "honey" so he technically isnt wrong.

Fermented shrimp is what we eat in The Philippines. It is definitely an acquired taste because it has to be lightly dipped because it’s salty. But it goes well with like eggplant, coconut milk, Kare kare, But it will make your house smell like rotten fish. When I was a kid I invited my friends over house. Yeah, my non Filipino friends are like dude what died in here. My Filipino friends be like oooh I smell bagoong, You making kare kare?
