Bobby 6 years ago I was 300 lbs and tired and wanted to loose weight, but i love food...and i had a life time of recipes that I loved and i still wanted to love so I did what you are doing, I lightened up all my favorite things figured out how eat the same things but make them healthier, i didnt believe in all the fad diets and just kept trying to lighten up after 4 years I was half my former self and have maintained it for the last 2 years, I never felt deprived and i never looked back, i am proof that you can still eat and enjoy food and make a healthy life for yourself, tell your Momma I wish her a speedy recovery and thanks for the recipe!

I don't think Jamie is cold. Through out the Years of me watching Paula. I really could tell the difference between the 2 sons. Maybe it's a childhood thing...I've always thought that. They both love their momma so that's all that matters. Sometimes you don't know what people go through with the parents growing up.

Mr Bobby Dean your stories are so amazing when you share parts of your time with your beloved family at y'all's restaurants. You can see the love and pride in your face for all the awesome things y'all have accomplished. Bobby thank you sharing this lighter recipe. I have made Paula’s peach cobbler 7 times in the last month, noticed my pants have started shrinking. Five of us came down with this C-virus, we have recovered. During the recovery this was the only thing that tasted good. I’ll try this lighter version today and will compare.

Im so thankful to hear Paula's eye surgery went well. I've been praying and praying some more. I've been looking for an update and I'm so glad to hear the good news! I have always had my kids in the kitchen and when they have friends over i make it a point yo teach them how to cook something new on their own of course we walk them through it. But i try to teach the young ladies and young men how to cook and my kids automatically throw their friends into the kitchen chopping slicing stirring tasting. It is the most wholesome loving thing you can do with your kids and to teach other kids who maybe don't have a mamma that cooks or its just the daddy raisin the kids or both parents that don't even let them near the kitchen. We love every minute of it. You were so right Bobby. It is a really important skill to teach someone to share with someone and for your family and friends bonding time. It is so special.

I couldn’t cook at all, I’d burn the water I was boiling. Probably 20 years or so I was determined to learn. I owe Miss Paula Deen a HUGE thank you because she taught me how to cook. And I’ve made Bobby’s goulash many of times. The cheesy grits is my favorite! One of my bucket list items was to eat at the Lady and Sons. My fiancé made that dream come true a few years back and I was not disappointed. Love y’all!

Bobby i remember when i was young & we made homemade icecream only our maker was a wooden bucket & a handcrank on top! We had to manually turn until it became hard!! We usually made banana or vanilla or some of both!

I like peach cobbler, but I fix it a little bit different. I usually use two cans of peaches in it's own juice. Sometimes I add frozen blueberries or strawberries to it. I've even used two cans of mixed fruit to make a mixed fruit cobbler, and it's really good.

Peach cobbler is the last thing I cooked in my grandmother’s kitchen before she passed, was having her teach me, she about had a cow that I made so much cobbler crust, but that’s the way I like it, lots!

Light brown sugar is as many calories as brown sugar. Light just mean there is less molasses but it’s not “light” as in calories

I have made both Paula's and Bobby's Peach Cobbler. I love both. I fix Paula's for special occasions and Bobby's for when I need a sweet treat. I always use the canned peaches, even when I can get fresh because the fuzz on peaches irritates my skin for some reason. I like to serve it with a cinnamon ice cream.
