Thanks for this, my dad's 04 sienna vent window fell off 2 days ago and luckily it hung from the closing arm and didn't break.. Been trying to figure out what glue to use or how to get the old glue off and this has been helpful!

I might try to take the hinge off and glue it on a flat surface..

I think the rubber rain guard that runs along the bottom of the window comes loose and hangs down, and doesn't fit into the slot where it should when it closes. That causes the window to bind with a twisting pressure when the motor pulls the window closed... that pressure pops the glue loose on the hinge! Both of mine have done that. If caught ahead, the rubber could be glued, and save yourself the hassle of repairs!

That's possible. In my case the window had sagged so it was not closing square in the opening and that caused the problem. I think the whole setup is hoaky, it's not really a hinge, it's just a piece of metal that flexes over and over. So there's a lot of loading on the whole joint every time you use the window.

I used a Dremel tool to get all the adhesive off the window. Worked like a charm.

You are thorough, sir. I'm having the same problem with my 2004 Sienna. I figured a fresh bead of adhesive would do the trick. It was that type of Gorilla Glue you used on the front edge of the glass, at the bracket, right?

Would this be a repair for a mechanic or a glass company?

Good question, maybe a collision shop? I know the dealer will fix it, I saw someone on a sienna forum that got an estimate. It was quite a lot but I don't recall how much.
