You need to spend a day at a time checking all those tailings piles. The work is all done for you. Just bring a rake. Take your time and stay hydrated. Your chances are greater there.

I have a Garrett AT Gold I bought in 2012 and a White's Electronics unit I inherited from a friend that I haven't tried yet. So far I found a dozen specimens and a 10K diamond ring along with a lot of antique hardware, buttons, fasteners, etc. from old ming camps scatter along our camp hosting adventures. Hope to play with it some more soon.

Hello Russ a friend prospects a lot in Burns Canyon east of Big Bear. A couple of years ago he called it a day, and left his detector on while he was walking back to his truck. It made a ping, he thought it was just another beer can. He almost walked away but decided to dig. It was a 7 1/2 oz. gold nugget!

I camp a lot at dome , i see people over there all the time working that wash , dry dredge going for the flour gold ! ha , you need a four wheel drive or o.r.v. to get in the back country washes ! good lucky .

As from every thing I have herd if the clams are not a patented clams it is still BLM lands and the public can access just can,t remove any minerals. If the clams is patented the clams Omer ones the land and pays taxes on it.
