Simply angelic! Thank you, Sisters! Beautifully sung! Whenever I hear this piece, fond memories flood my soul. I first heard this piece as a teenager at my Confirmation. I thought the angels were singing! I think the words set to music by Palestrina convey so well the yearning we have for God. That same sentiment expressed by St. Augustine in his Confessions: “Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee.”

It was so good to see this beautiful sister's, they remind so much of the nun when I used to go to school but instead of a belt they hade a white rope around their waist, I haven't seen one of theme in 53 years, where I leave they dissappear, once in a blue moon you see one with a short habit and most of the time not even a veil, my grandchildren and my children they never come across a real nun, God bless this beautiful nun .🙏🙏🙏

We raised it to a higher key. It made it very high for our soprano, but doable for lowest voices. Still working on getting those low notes.

I've been singing a lot, different music types, classical,... but the most memorable I enjoyed is liturgy, gregorian choir. As we hear from those sisters, angelic choir, this music is the most useful, the one that elevates the soul. Incredible singing, pure prayer. Nice to see sisters wearing habits too. Years ago our local nuns modified their habits, but they still looked like habits. Then they switched to lay dresses, skirts and blouses with a little veil perched on their heads. Eventually the veils went away, and they started to wear slacks, makeup, and get their hair done. While all of this was transpiring, some of the nuns left the convent so that a community of eight teaching sisters became a community of four, with no new sisters apparently in the "pipeline". One of the four remaining sisters ran off with one of our priests not long after she took her solemn vows. The three remaining sisters decided that it made more sense for them to rent an apartment instead of living in a big convent, so the convent building, now used as a parish center, became empty. The apartment dwelling nuns stopped teaching, took lay jobs, and engaged in social action causes. Their life in "community" was hit or miss, and in time, they all went elsewhere. I am not saying that the lack of traditional habits "caused this". Rather, their habits disappeared along with a mindset that had once bound the sisters together in consecrated life, while also setting them apart from a world that respected them. I'll note in ending that the sisters in this video belong to a group that does not recognize the last two Vatican Councils; to an organization which believes that the pope and the Roman Catholic Church today is heretical. I understand their concerns, but extremism on both ends of the matter, whether ultra liberal or ultra conservative, is unhelpful. Pope Benedict sought middle ground and elevated traditions to their rightful place. Hopefully, this will become the norm in the future, not the exception.

The best comment in this section, IHMO. I agree with the fact that equilibrium is what catholic communities must seek. The traditions have a meaning, they elevate and preserve, and they must be kept alive (not set in stone). In the wake of the second Vatican council, much has been lost in self-indulgence and, on the other hand, much gave ground to extremist positions. Yes, Benedictus XVI was a great pope.
