I’m so happy my father had me listening to these guys before I could even walk. He told me that when I was a baby I couldn’t sleep at night unless he put on silent lucidity. I’m going to have my sons listen to this and keep this kind of music living on

Well... Dream Theater was heavily influenced by Queensryche's' music. Now, I'm not saying they're the same as Queensryche, but they're in the same genre. And they're just as awesome.

DismalShadow and I also saw them twice at House of Blues-and in my opinion DT and QR sound nothing alike
@DismalShadow8 жыл бұрын
Idnic Tsal Never said they were alike. I said that they're the same genre. Queensryche is progressive metal, which is a genre that they pioneered; Dream Theater's main influence is Queensryche. If you listen to Dream Theater's earlier songs you'll see. James Labrie's vocal style is quite similar to Geoff Tate's. Like I said, the bands aren't the same or alike, but they are similar considering they're the same genre. Listen to some of Dream Theater's interviews, you'll see.

TUMBS UP!!!!!! I gave a chance to their new singer, but it's not comparable, Tod is doing his best but NO ONE can sing this like Geoff!!! Gosh, the performance on the stage, it's just simply MAGICAL!!! I will stay faithful fan of Geoff Tate forever, Queensryche as well, off course, but only to the point of him leaving the band. Wish them good luck and all the best, but I just can't bare their songs with someone else singing. Tod have a great voice, no doubt, all respect, but without me! I grown up with their music, my first one, most favourite band, always, but Geoff voice was adding a special magic to their songs for me, Todd is just not doing it for me.

A trip down memory lane, this band was the very first band to take metal another level with the lyrics,concepts of stories incorporated into an album, the cacophony of melodies never heard before. Sure there was pink Floyd and Rush and their stories like the wall,but metal being played this way was awesome. Everyone wanted to be Geoff Tate, and every guitarist wanted to be harmonic duos like degarmo and Michael Wilton. The ryche lives!

@@LaurieRycher Tate went on an ego trip. It’s already apparent in this video, walking around in some kind of weird pro wrestling outfit. The split within QR was inevitable but there’s no question in my mind that Tate and DeGarmo were the main drivers behind the band’s success. TLT must have been a nice change at first but has nowhere near the same songwriting skills as Tate had, as far as lyrics go. Wilton and Jackson are too passive and are allowing TLT to fill the void and take over the band as we speak. This is just not QR anymore. it’s a different beast.
